NFBC Message Boards

Last year Brian Oldenski and Marty Bedell not only battled for the $100,000 grand prize in the NFBC, they also battled for the title in New York League 5. For a time, it looked like one of them could win the overall title and not win the league title, but in the end Brian won both to earn $105,000 and Marty finished second in NY 5 and third overall.



As of today, the top two teams in the overall contest -- Roundtrippers and Primus Sucks! -- are in the same league, Las Vegas League 7. Rick Thomas and David Conkey are having a fun little battle now, but it's a long, long road ahead. In fact, Rick has been in this position too many times in baseball and football and he knows that this is a marathon, not a sprint.



I'll keep watching the leaderboard because each day it seems we have a new leader. Should be a fun fight to the finish to see who wins the $100,000 grand prize and a spot on next year's cover of Fantasy Sports Magazine.

thanks for the post greg!!! if nothing else i get to celebrate my brothers 7th anniversary with him. i now have a total of 3 days "on the lid." i am currently taking an extended vacation back in maryland and was speding some quality time with mom(watching reruns of cold case and without a trace) last night and checked the espn news update around 11 p.m. and saw alot of my players names(millwood, hamels, francis, dye, figgins etc) and told mom "tomorrow is gonna be a good day when the stats come out." i have been fortunate in the nfbc and nffc since its inception and look forward to each day for many reasons. you are correct, NOTHING is won in may, june, july etc. i remember last year on august. 15 i was leading ultimate, my sat. division and an auction league(a cool 45-50 g's) and ended up winning 0 and had a great time doing so. it is a long season and even tougher having a bullseye on your back. cheers to my divisional foe and his team will be tough to beat. may the best and luckiest team win and remember the most important thing of all "life is short,have fun" see you all in vegas in a few months. I don't mean to jinx anyone with acknowledgements, but from time to time it makes sense to call out our top players. A lot of people may not know it, but our overall leader right now in the main event is David DiDonato, who manages Vinnie's Team. His team is competing in Las Vegas League 9, which had the most defending league champs from 2005 along with 2004 past champions. Not only that, but David has his team in front in the Las Vegas Ultimate League by 24.5 points. He also won the debut NFBC Ultimate League last year and was a past WCOFB champion, so he's not new to success.



Congratulations David on a great start to this season and continued good luck the rest of the way. Your early accomplishments deserve recognition.
