No Drop List

Post by Walla Walla » Wed Jun 07, 2006 5:09 am

How about a no drop list to save time for those thinking of dropping a player. It could be put out on Friday. Update every week. It would solve some of the problems. As it stands now someone may have a differant view than the commish and waste thier time putting up a bid for a player.

I remember last year there was never a clear cut time when I could drop Barry Bonds. I found out after asking here. I'm sure I could have dropped him before I did but there was no guidelines.

Of course I guess I could of asked every week. But thats not really what anyone wants.

Wouldn't it be more of a "If dropped...goes into the limbo-pool?" Rather than no-drop? We should be able to drop anyone we wish...but not allow them to enter the waiver-pool.

~Lance That is correct Lance. You can drop anyone you want. But if you drop Alex Rodriguez just to get FAAB out of your league members or because you're out of the race and want to have some fun, then I'd take A-Rod out of that league's free agent pool for good to make sure the integrity of the overall contest is kept in check.

OK than a can't pick up list. Updated Friday.

A little more active oversight by the commish couldn't hurt.

Yeah Greg, what do you do all day, sit on your arse and sun yourself, sipping coronas, trying to think of ways to get Bernie Brewer elected to public office? ;)

A little more active oversight by the commish couldn't hurt. Yeah I'm sure Greg wants to view the FA pool every single week and make a can't pick up list. That's a large request from someone who is retiring at years end from the NFBC.

A little more active oversight by the commish couldn't hurt. My oversight is scanning the cuts each Monday morning and deciding if any of those players should be pulled from the free agent pool. What you're asking is for a list to know who you can't drop and have it affect the free agent pool, right? Because if you were just worried about dropping players to pick up better players you wouldn't be concerned if they are pulled from your league's free agent pool or not.

I've said it before, I don't want to pull any players this year if possible. But if I see one key drop in an NFFC main event league that seems to skew the competition in that league's favor, then I'll jump in and just take that player out of the free agent pool for that one league. So creating a weekly list of players having All-Star first halfs doesn't make sense. Those players seem obvious.

As UFS said, no player has been pulled during the first 10 weeks of competition. Good job all and good luck the rest of the way.

Now about that live scoring glitch with pitching.....I've commanded STATS to solve that bug no matter what the costs. I trust that the morning stats work fine and the transaction features work fine, so it's time to get that live scoring feature fixed for all so that I can retire to the beach for these last four months of the NFFC season! :D

At which time I'll just snicker and say, "nah, you don't really want to know. It wasn't anything important in the grand scheme of life. I didn't save lives, change the world or bring world peace. I was just in the entertainment business, having some fun and making a good living!"

It's almost comical how I've managed to make a living at this! :D :D

[/QUOTE]No Walla Walla is retiring from the NFBC. I don't know him personally but he started a message a while back on the message board stating this.
