Slooooww draft?

Post by Deadheadz » Thu Jan 30, 2014 12:30 pm

As of 1:30pm ET we are on pick 1 of DC 59.

Patience, patience.
I might talk myself into taking Harper if he falls to 15 at this rate...

Cheers!

The first 2 picks of my DC took almost 2 hours. Someone got the time zone wrong.
Not a big deal, but you would have thought the auto 1 would have been the easy play.

The guy with pick 1 was in chat earlier and told us he was taking Miggy so I'm assuming he went on Auto One but it didn't stick. Maybe he's using the HTML draft room and it refreshed on him.

Pick 7 told us early on he wouldn't get to pick until 3-3:30 ET so at least we know not to wait.

Seems like a good group.

Update: 21 picks in the first 7 hours. We're smokin'

Same BS, different year, Junior. Some will draft faster than others. Deal with it. Like Jay Cutler as my QB and the Cubs' rebuild, I've just learned to accept it and deal with it. Patience, son. Your time...and pick... will eventually come. Tired of all the Slow Draft bitching, solutions, calls to change. It is what is. A Slooooooooooow Draft. Be happy we have off-season drafts this early.

A wise man is COZ. That about sums up my feelings as well on slow drafts.
I'm not doing any slow drafts this year. Not because of the slowness in actually drafting, but because of poor performance in past few seasons. Switched to auctions.

We had an owner in ROUND 41 who drafts in the 2 hole, can't manage to put 3-players in his queue and go on Auto One after his pick in rd 40, takes the full 8hrs...yet he's the biggest complainer on the board to keep the draft moving! :?

Round 42 and the team is on the clock for the last 4hrs and still counting. I guess the concept of Auto One is too difficult for some to comprehend.

I must say, the draft as a whole has been about on schedule as tomorrow will be 2-weeks, so hasn't been too bad, but the end of the draft should go pretty quick...I would think.

Sometimes the biggest complainer ends up losing his patience and figures "hell, you guys wanna slow draft? I'll give you a slow draft!!" Then drags it out to give the slowbies a taste of their own medicine.

I've considered it at times but never done it. I prefer to set a good example by making speedy picks or announcing in chat ehen I'll be available to make my pick.

But I can understand how he feels if that's what he's doing.

What you just said doesn't make much sense, but then again DH, some of your posts leave me scratching my head sometimes. ;)

I wasn't aware the HTML draft board would kick you off auto pick. I'm in New York to watch the Broncos win SB XLVIII tomorrow and was surprised to see I had burned 2.5 hours while I thought I was on auto. The other draft room won't come up on this ancient iPad.

No, wouldn't help, I have an office in Toronto and visit at least once a year, so plenty aware of the lingo...eh! Although I do have a few Canadian users that leave me scratching my head as well.

My last pick was over 27 hours ago. Must be a holiday weekend down south...
