USA Today hosted the LABR Mixed Draft League last night online and the results were updated in real-time at RT Sports. I thought they did a great job with this draft and you could see viewers' opinions of some picks on Twitter. Feel free to enjoy the results or to comment on anything you see here:

Round 4 Altuve
Round 6 Sandoval

I am guessing he doesn't have ADP info available.

There is no ADP available for that group - totally different (and it is a trading league)

And average draft position just creates average teams

ADP was never meant as a "drafting for dummies" crutch. ADP is a tool which can help you get an idea of where one of the players you ranked with your own criteria might fall so that you don't piss away value by drafting him too soon.

Eg. You might see Adrian Beltre available at 12 and think he's the player you want. ADP tells you he's likely still available at 19 where you'll get more value by having Beltre plus the player you took at 12. Rather that than Beltre plus the player you end up with at 19.

Also, following ADP over time lets you see trends such as Chris Davis being drafted later, Bryce Harper and Billy Hamilton being drafter earlier than they were a month ago.

C'mon...

"Average Draft Position creates average teams" implies there are drafters who believe you should choose your players by ADP. You know that's crazy, I know that's crazy.

Did you bother to read the part where I said "players you ranked with your own criteria"?
You've said before that you don't bother wasting time re-setting the default draft order to your own rankings so I'm assuming you (and most other successful drafters) actually HAVE their own rankings.

Are you telling me you stick to your own rankings even if ADP suggests you could wait 1 or more rounds to get that player? Seriously?

The A stands for average, not absolute.

What matters is if you feel the player adds sufficient value to your team relative to the draft spot. There may be someone doing a gimmicky strategy that is looking to take players for a particular reason so they don't care about ADP -- they only care about their contribution and jump the ADP. If you play chicken, sometimes you lose. If there's a player that will help you relative to that spot, then you take him.

Yes, I have my own rankings.

Concerning ADP, it works both ways. There are a couple players with current ADPs in the 2nd round; however i wouldn't consider them until the 6th or 7th rounds.

Likewise there are players I would consider jumping a round or two (or more if we are talking rounds 30-50) if I felt that was the best way to construct a winning roster. However, if I found myself jumping players too many rounds or simply jumping most of my players, i probably did something wrong

Say what you want about ADP. Everyone uses it differently.
Altuve's 2013 stats .283 5HR 52RBI 64RUNs 35SB
I hope I am drafting with the guys that think that is 4th round value.
I drafted Altuve by the way but it was round 9.
Sandoval's 2013 stats .278 14HR 79RBI 52RUNS 0SB
Once again I hope I am drafting with the guys that think Sandoval is a 6th round value
I have drafted Sandoval twice this year but it was in the 12th round.

I don't follow ADP by the book but I at least use it and go a round or two early if I like a guy.

Correction I drafted in the 11th round once and the 12th round once
