Sunday Night Draft Champions Express Thread

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Sat Feb 15, 2014 7:14 pm

Okay, this is going to be the thread for NFBC members to talk about our Sunday Night Special at 6 pm ET. This is for non-participants and we'll use this to discuss picks as they are happening and create an ongoing dialogue. We think it will be fun to watch the Google Doc here and to debate the picks here as well. It's FREE viewing for 50 rounds and we'll do this every Sunday night.

Again, this is for non-participants to discuss the picks, discuss the formation of the teams, strategies and more. The owners are kind enough to allow for this viewing and they might even appreciate some feedback on their picks and teams. This should be fun, entertaining and informative. Here's the link for Sunday night:

Google Doc link:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... ring#gid=0

One of the participants is politely adding the picks during each round. Unfortunately, we don't have a real-time draft board that we can provide for public viewing. Our draft boards are not viewable for the public, but it is something that we are working on for the future. For now, let's use the Google Doc above.

Thanks all. Let's set a record attendance for tomorrow's draft and have some good fun with solid feedback on the picks. See ya on Sunday night at 6 pm ET. Can't wait!!

Okay, 30 minutes until we kick off our first Sunday Night NFBC Draft Champions Express Special. Public viewing is allowed and feedback on picks is welcome. I'll lead some of the conversation and ask for feedback, but chime in whenever you'd like on this thread. Should be fun.

The link to the Google Doc is above. Call it up and follow along. We'll update 2 or 3 times per round. Enjoy. See ya in a bit.

Trout, followed by Goldschmidt at 2. Miggy falls to 3. McCutchen at 4, Kershaw at 5 and Hanley at 6.

Thoughts on Goldy ahead of Miggy???

Goldschmidt at #2 before Miggy. Nothing like starting off the draft with a little controversy. I do believe that if you're concerned about Miggy recovering from his late season physical ailments that this pick does make sense.

Adam Jones 7, followed by 8. Jason Kipnis, 9. Carlos Gonzalez, 10. Jacoby Ellsbury, 11. Chris Davis, 12. Yu Darvish, 13. Troy Tulowitzki, 14. Robinson Cano, 15. Adrian Beltre

Wow, what do you think of Kipnis at 8?

What do you think of Darvish at 12??

Kipnis at #8 overall. Looking forward to that owner's defense of this pick.

Edwin Encarnacion at 16. He's been this week's riser, I think. I've seen him going 12-13 a lot this week. End of first round a lot.

Bryce Harper at 17
Ryan Braun at 18
Prince Fielder at 19
David Wright at 20
Jean Segura at 21
Joey Votto, nice bargain at 22

Thoughts on Encarnacion, Harper and Braun??

2.8 Carlos Gomez - he's been a solid 2nd round pick in NFBC leagues
2.9 Freddie Freeman
2.10 Evan Longoria
2.11 Yasiel Puig
2.12 Shin Soo-Choo

Puig at 26. He's been going 20-22 recently.

3.6 Giancarlo Stanton
3.7 Ian Desmond

3.10 Max Scherzer
3.11 Buster Posey
3.12 Albert Pujols

3 rounds in 15 minutes. That's the way to keep this on a 4-hour pace. Nice job guys.

Arent many players that you can draft that can almost give you 15 points in a category by themselves.

Kipnis at 1.08 was insanity but he was rewarded by getting CarGo2 at 2.08 who had first round numbers last year

I think Darvish in the first round was silly at best a second rounder and should be third round in a DC
