New Draft Prep Page Is LIVE

Post by Tom Kessenich » Fri Feb 28, 2014 12:54 pm

The new Draft Prep page has gone live and is on all team pages now. A reminder that this can be imported into all future online drafts. Our NFFC players can tell you how much they appreciated getting this upgraded feature in football last year and we hope everyone will enjoy it for baseball as well. If you want to use the old version there is a link for that at the bottom of the page.

Enjoy. :)

The new Draft Prep page is light years better than the old version. Much easier to use and much easier to move players with the drop and drag function and the search function from which you can "grab" players and drop them where you want them on your list. I give the new page a solid 'B'. My only real gripe with the new page is that players are still listed first name first instead of last name first, and that still makes it harder to find players on the list. I set up my entire Draft Prep list in one sitting without going nuts, so the new page is definitely a step in the right direction.

I was enroute to Phoenix when this went live on Thursday, but is everything working okay on this new Draft Prep software? Is it saving you time and working like it was in football? Is there anything you see that could be added or adjusted?

Thanks for any feedback. No feedback on a new launch can be considered good news, but any feedback is welcome. Thanks all.

Greg,

This is working just like football and saving a lot of time. Thanks  However if 1 thing could be imporved its that when it opens up it only has the top 200 and when you go into each position that is only about the top 15-20 with in each, you can easily add 100 at a time but each time you do it it brings you back to the start, and once you hit save you lose everything and have to add them all over again. My suggestion would be to start with the top 500 as that would cover the player pool needed for a main event, or make it that once you SAVE you don't have to start over again adding the players.

The filter options were a very nice and unexpected feature.

Greg,

A very nice improvement. The drag and paste feature is a godsend.

Things could always be a little better. One flaw is that when you send a player to the end of the list, he goes to the very end...he goes some 1700 players down, even if you are just expecting him just to drop to the bottom of the page you are working on. It took me ten minutes to find him, by scrolling down....I could search for them, but instead I just will forego using the drop button. It would better if you had a up and down fifty- or 100-button.

Also, it would be great if you could import the current ADP ranking and begin with that rather than having to start with the NFBC ranking. The ADP is a closer to my own projections, and because of that it would mean I could drag and paste a lot more players while building my rankings. Drag and paste is so much easier than search and paste and you should try and maximise that benefit with the new Draft Prep Page.

One question, if I co-manage a team with someone else, could we import my draft list onto our co-managed team even if he is the "lead" owner? If not, it would be cool if we could.

I see how you can import from another of your teams, and export to a format useable by spreadsheet software.

But no ability to import from an XLS or CSV format? Not quite the upgrade some of us hoped for. Or am I missing something that allows uploading user lists rather than manual re-ranking?

I am currently adjusting my draft prep list. This is my first time using the new draft prep, which is greatly improved, however I'm having a few issues. I already had my list set from the old draft prep and I was going down the list and I noticed Lance Lynn where he didn't belong. I went back up the list to where I had him at, which was after Will Venable, and he was listed there as well. I figured it was just a simple glitch, so I saved the rankings to see if it would fix it. When I did, the Lance Lynn that was in the correct spot was replaced by a 2nd Will Venable. I moved the other Lance Lynn on the list up to the spot right after the 1st Will Venable and Saved it to see if it would correct the issue, but it didn't. It now has listed: Will Venable, Lance Lynn, Will Venable. Also, there was a few random guys that were sent way down my list. For instance, I originally had Ben Revere in the 180s or 190s, but when I was going through the list in the new draft prep, he was down in the 400s. I was just wondering if anybody else was having issues like this?

I'm running into a similar problem. Nelson Cruz and Aramis Ramirez are each listed twice within a range of 10 picks. And I see no way to remove a player.
