STATS tells us the positions listed in the draft room are only the expected positions and we should consult the official eligibility page:

Based on that link, Corey Hart only is eligible at 1B. That, however, is wrong, I think.

The rules say: "Any player who missed all of the previous season to injury or retirement will qualify at the position he last was eligible for in the majors."

In 2012, Corey Hart played more than 20 games at 1B and OF and, therefore, should be eligible at both positions in 2014 (assuming I am interpreting the rules correctly).

In a related thread, it seems that under similar reasoning, Casey McGehee will qualify at 1B and 3B based on his last year in the majors, which seemingly supports my interpretation that the same approach should apply to Corey Hart.

I think they're going with the position most played in the season before the missed season.
Can we find any examples that contradict this theory?

Yes. On page 2 of the related 2014 Position Eligibility thread, Greg or Tom indicated that Casey McGehee would be eligible at 1B and 3B based on 2012. Same circumstances with Corey Hart. He played 20+ games at 1B and OF in 2012, his last season. Thus, I think, as Mark (Gekko) indicates in that thread, there still are some errors re eligibility - at least for Hart and McGehee and maybe others - that need to be fixed.

McGahee and Hart have unusual situations and obviously we need to look at that. These are unique situations because both players didn't play last year and both players had qualified at two positions during their last year in the majors. We are looking at that now. If there is anything else you see here please let us know, but other than this I am unaware of any eligibility issues from the time we posted these in mid-November. Please let me know if you see something else. Thanks all.

on the draft board here are players listed at the wrong position...

Kendrys Morales (DH) - Should be 1B
Albert Pujols (DH) - Should be 1B
Ryan Doumit (DH) - Should be C or OF
Adam Dunn (DH) - Should be 1B
Mike Olt ChC (1B) - Should be 3B

They are listed correctly when you draft them and on the eligibility list, but then they are listed like this on the draft board, right? I thought we just corrected that, but I'll look again. Thanks.

Catcher Matt McBride was showing as OF but since the IT dept at STATS "fixed it" he now shows as UTL only.

C'mon IT, step your game up.

They are showing up wrong on the ADP list. If it's going to be use by the whole industry , It better be right, and it's not. It's come down to DETAILS. Players with duel eligibility are only showing at 1 position, should show up under each position they are eligible for.

There were only two DC teams with McBride on them. You must have gotten him twice Chris.

Hart and McGehee were updated yesterday. We should be good now for Set Lineups.
