Your 20+ Round Hitter

Post by ikenbaseball » Mon Mar 31, 2014 8:13 am

Now that the draft is over, I'd be curious to see what 20+ round hitter was your biggest steal in the Main Events. We can revisit this thread every month or so and see how we did.

My favorite pick is Daniel Nava. I draft him around the 25th round in both of my Main Events.

A leadoff hitter who talked about being more aggressive on the bases this year, he could have a big year for the Sox.

290 90 18 60 10 is realistic.

Good Luck to Everyone

I took Chris Johnson in the 24th and it seems his ADP in most other main events was 3-5 rounds higher...but I guess that doesn't really fit the profile you're looking for with this question

We took Mike Olt in the 22nd Round. Could obviously be a bust but I like the upside of the pick there if he can wrestle away the 3B job fulltime.

Also took Mitch Moreland in the 24th which I think is good value for a guy that should hit 20+ HRs.

Do 2 platoon players equal one good player?

In my ME we saw a manager with no 2B going into round 24 get Ricky Weeks and Scooter Gennett on back to back picks.
Could be huge, could suck hard.

I had a couple of late hitters but my best was actually my after-round-25 pitcher. Matt Lindstrom.

Had my reasons and own him on most of my teams.

Ryan Ludwick at the end of the 25th. Hits fifth in Cincy.
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

If they can tolerate his glove in LF, Tommy Medica in round 29, could work out.

Almonte in the 22nd round. I hope he gets the playing time.

Nava 0-5 today. Ouch!
But then I saw Billy Hamilton go 0-4 with 4 strikeouts.
So.....I don't feel so bad.
