Kearns and Lopez traded

Post by poopy tooth » Thu Jul 13, 2006 9:52 am

Can someone please tell me why the Reds traded Kearns and Lopez for a middle reliever?

"The AP reports that the Nationals traded for Felipe Lopez (SS) Was, Austin Kearns, and Ryan Wagner on Thursday. In exchange they sent Royce Clayton, Bill Bray, Gary Majewski, Daryl Thompson, and Brendan Harris to the Reds. As the everyday shortstop for Cincinnati, Lopez was hitting .268 with nine HR, 30 RBI, and 23 SB. He will be Washington's starting shortstop."

I'm not a Reds fan, but I don't think this makes sense for them. Majewski? Bray? (Prospect-so I don't know much about him.) Clayton?

I know the Reds have that Denoforia (spelling) kid that is supposed to be good, but I think they may have gotten robbed, unless this Bray is someone good. Is he?

And most importantly...why does this happen right after I draft Kearns? I guess it could be worse. In last nights league ($1,000) the same team got Lopez and Kearns. I think the Reds GM deserves a real azz whippin'!

This has to go down as one of the worst trades EVER. Seriously this is just bizarre. Krivsky (or what ever his name is) better pull something HUGE out of his ass to make up for this one. Sadly, I just took Kearns in the Don Mathis league, and I have lopez in my satellite leagues but this does make my Auction and main event teams strong as I have neither on either team

Yeah, another day, another horrible trade. At least it didn't hurt both teams like the Huff deal.

Now I can see Bowden turning around and doing something big with Kearns though. I think Lopez is in DC to stay.

Bjoak,

Come on, as a DevilRay Fan, The Huff trade didnt hurt both teams ... BJ Upton to the rescue!! ALso, I have him on my bench and need some SPEED so I can win this thing.

Living in DC, I am pumped over the Nationals trade. Extremely one sided!! I love it!
