Mariners call up Franklin

According to CBS John Heyman they want to play him in the OF. Don't they have a glut of OF already?
Are they showcasing him for a trade?

Yes they already have too many outfielders BUT few of them have produced like they hoped - Ackley is fine and Almonte is a very good CF and decent with the bat (better once he settles down) but RF is a wasteland offensively.
So Yes they could be showcasing him .... they could also be lighting a match under Brad Miller who is off to a very slow start IF Franklin hits right away.

Franklin starting at DH tonight in Texas ................. and yes LoMo was put on the DL

Pixked him up in my ME this week and was hoping when he got pulled it was for a trade. Oh well. Still better than nothing!
