This Is The Way To Watch Baseball!

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Aug 07, 2006 8:46 am

This weekend I traveled to St. Louis to hook up with my good buddies Charlie Weigert of CDM Fantasy Sports and Nate Ravitz of Rototimes.com and they were nice enough to take me to Busch Stadium for a pair of games against the Brewers. We were down the right field line on Saturday night during a gorgeous evening of baseball. I enjoyed everything about the experience, from the rapid Cardinals' fans, to the Albert Pujols line drive home run after getting knocked down twice by Jeremi Gonzalez to the flyover of a Stealth bomber by the Air Force. Great night.

But baseball nirvana was experienced on Sunday afternoon when Charlie and I had special seats behind the plate. I'm talking FIRST ROW, just to the third base side of home plate, seats 1 and 2. We were actually closer to the plate than the pitcher. Part of the program there is all the drinks and food you want during the game too, so when it's 98 degrees and 110 degrees on the field you enjoy that nice little add-on. Nine innings of pure baseball heaven, is what it was!! :D

I've never been so close to the action and I have shot pictures at MLB games before. It doesn't get any better than that and I owe Charlie a big one for that experience. He might not know it, but I'm coming back again next year for the same experience!! And the year after that and the year after that and ......

Oh, and the new Busch Stadium was awesome. Very nice setup and the Cardinals seem to do everything to make the experience special. We had a Stealth bomber flyover on Saturday night and the Blue Angels did a flyover on Sunday. Amazing stuff. 98 degrees both days. Good baseball. Albert Pujols. Man, take me out to the ol' ballgame again.

Thanks Charlie. It was a weekend to remember for a baseball nut like myself.

Wow...that sounded like one hell of a time...free drinks too!!!

When you're in the Bay Area...let me know...you need to check out the SF Giants stadium (I still call it Pac-Bell Park).

If the weather is right...the Dodgers are in town...it just may rival the game you went to...but that sounds hard to beat!

I'll take my chances...all on me!
