Hi,
Greg, I just wanted to let you know that the KDS didn't do very well in the Mathis league. RT and I both set our systems a 1-15 and I received the 14th pick and he received the 15th pick. So in essence, there was zero difference using KDS than from using a random generator.
Secondly, teams that cut SP pitching are rated 2, 3 and 5th in our Mathis League. One guy is going for BA is at 4th.
Chris

Chris Well, blame Tom for picking you guys 14th and 15th. KDS is still a random draft and unfortunately the odds went against you guys this time. I'll go slap Tom right now for you if that makes you feel better.
How did Mathis fall out of first place? I thought he was unbeatable after the draft? It's still a long season and let me know how it finishes up. Next year we'll have a 300-400 IP minimum for this mid-season league. Enjoy the rest of the season.

Hi Greg -
I think it's becoming clear that the Mathis IP rules should be different from non-Mathis rules. In the Mathis format, a team can draft fluke relievers like Jamie Walker and Dennys Reyes in the later rounds, bank their sub-1.00 ERA and WHIP, and dominate those categories. This just simply isn't the case in non-Mathis leagues.
People have used the all-RP strategy in NFBC leagues since its inception, with mixed results. In the Mathis league, however, the all-RP strategy yields a decidedly different advantage (hindsight) that non-Mathis leagues don't have. A higher IP minimum for the Mathis league only would therefore seem appropriate.
