You're the man! Good article.
"The NFBC is a sort of Woodstock for the fantasy fanatic...maintains Greg Ambrosius..."
I'm not sure why, but that really made me laugh.

Very nice article, guys. Congratulations on your son, Andy -- they're a lot of fun, eh? And Dave, that's a great wedding photo.
Best of luck in your TB1 stretch run.

Good article guys. However, I will say that as the guy who was running Tampa there were A LOT of folks having big-time fun there.
Trust me on that.

I'm not sure why, but that really made me laugh. Great stuff. Press like this can only help the NFBC grow. I knew that John was looking for some interesting characters to profile when he asked to come to the NFBC's main event in Tampa, but I wasn't sure who he would find. Dave and Andy, you guys were the perfect characters!
I'll take my quote above, but this one surprised me:
Kerpen and Kaufmann are contemplating returning at the lower-ante level because a $5,000 payoff on a $1,250 investment ain't bad in any league. But forget the Ultra, Kerpen says: "It feels too much like gambling."
Damn, we've tried soooooo hard to get rid of that stigma and now this. Oh well.

Greg and Tom, I think that overall the press should do nothing but great things for the NFBC.
The $5,000 league draft was most definitely a different atmosphere than the $1,250 league. Tom might remember that on draft day, Dave and I would have serious fun announcing each selection with a parody involving the players name or our Mets obsession. There were certain members from New York that were asking to just draft as they were not interested in that aspect of fun. I am sure that in their own way, they had fun as well. In defense of the NFBC, Tom definitely did his part in making sure that the draft was a fun place to be, Hakuna Mattata was a nice guy as well, perhaps the other rooms just had a different idea of fun.
I found that The $1,250 "Championship league" was a much better atmosphere. We got to know some of the other teams both in our league, Tampa one and the other Tampa leagues. Lots of good folks there, certainly a much better atmosphere for our style of fun, at least as far as the draft goes.
Overall, I have nothing but nice things to say about the GMs I've met, Greg, Tom and all from Krause and the NFBC Tampa Draft. I am honored to be a part of the NFBC and look forward to continuing next year in Orlando?
Good luck to everyone down the stretch.

Thanks for the kind words Andy. Your Ultimate draft was a bit different since it was a phone hookup so there is a difference between that and a draft where all of the owners are in the room together -- which is what you experienced for the Main Event. My hope for the cities I run (and I know Greg and the rest of our staff feels the same way) is that for everyone to enjoy the experience to the fullest. You and Dave were definitely having a good time and that's great. We love to see that.
Now we just need to get you both back in the Ultimate next year and we'll have even more fun.
