Something I used to believe was how safe my 1b picks could and should be.

No sense in taking a chance on Jose Abreu and his weak ankles, I remember thinking, with so many safe picks out there.

Goldschmidt. Everyday Fielder. Votto. Encarnacion. Trumbo. Hosmer. Belt.

An seemingly endless assortment of good, safe picks.

Wowser.

Most of them hit by pitches.

The downside to Dough's fat and slow don't get hurt theory ... they're also too slow to avoid a pitch up and in.
