Fantasy Baseball Playoffs?

Is a league based on this years playoffs a possibility? Not sure how it would work but figured I'd ask. Trying to make life without fantasy baseball one month shorter.

actually, i think it would be simple. draft a full roster of playoff players, add up cumulative stats and when they are eliminated you are done accummulating stats. overall points win. i would be interested. maybe you are allowed a faab as well??? if greg could put something together for 250 or less i would be in!!! We did a post-season fantasy football game last year and we had 135 participants at $100 each. We gave out $10,000 to the winner, who happened to be Chris Schinker. It was a good game and we'll definitely do it again.

I think I can put together a good post-season baseball game where you draft players from the eight playoff teams and accumulate points per player. There are no moves after Draft Day, but I'll see about another format. Give me a week on this and we'll see if I can find a game format that can be programmed quickly. Good idea guys.

Greg,

i am FAR more interested if we did an individual 8-12 team league or leagues than a BIG league, just food for thought. also, we are very limited on draft dates, season ends on sunday and playoffs start on tues. i believe. lets get it going!!! can i draft howard no matter if he is in or not?? what a stud!!! DEFINITELY interested in any Baseball playoff contest. Played in the football one last year and really enjoyed it.

I think this could be done without anyones help.

Just get Mock Draft Central to do the draft.

All players can be drafted but, of course, if they are not in the playoffs they won't help you.

We would have all winter to tally up the results ourselves.

I don't have an online company to do this with at this point. Who would do a playoff draft if I rounded something up? Let's take names and we'd have to draft on Monday night. Zaleski, do you run a post-season game?

For what it's worth, STATS INC. used to have a post-season competition in their now defunct Bill James Fantasy Baseball (aka - STATS Fantasy Baseball). The way it worked was that players from the playoff teams were assigned dollar values based mostly upon their performance from the current season (i.e. - Carlos Beltran might be 20, Billy Wagner 17, Tom Glavine 13, Cliff Floyd 9, Endy Chavez 5, etc.) The BJFB playoff participants each had a playoff budget to draft a post-season roster. It's been a few years but I think you picked nine players and six pitchers and there was no other positional requirements. Since timing was a real issue, owners could duplicate picks. To better avoid people having too many players in common, you could buy players from your regular season team at a 50% discount. The three division winners got 150 dollars to spend while the wildcard had 135. The scoring was based upon the STATS points system, but I would think that this would be easy enough to change to Roto 5x5.
