Way to go Bob!
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

I spent a few moments at a bar with Juprinka and the Hinkelmans after last year's big money drafts in Vegas and I asked them who they thought would be joining them soon in that very exclusive HOF club they both belong to. Juprinka threw out Bobby Particelli's name.

Particelli's one of the most under the radar top players in fantasy, both baseball and football. He deserves serious accolades as he continues to prove how truly great he is at this hobby. On top of that, he's just a really cool guy. Congrats Bobby, next year's drinks in Vegas are on you.

Congratulations to Bob on winning the Auction Championship. It wasn't his first win and won't be his last. I'll second what Glenn said above. Sharing a few drinks with Bob, Glenn, Steve and Gabe after the Ultimate Auction was a high-light for me.

He's starting to compile a pretty impressive resume in the NFBC and now he has a national title to his name. CONGRATS to Bob Particelli, who not only won his second NFBC Diamond League title this year but also the NFBC Auction Championship. This was a tough, tight race with Bob forging into the lead for the first time in early September and holding onto the lead and the $20,000 grand prize. Great job Bob and congrats to all of the league champions and the overall prize winners.

Here's a look at the Top 50 teams in the national auction championship:

A painful loss for me. Was leading the auction championship from June until the last two weeks of September. My offense completely fell apart the last month. Congrants Bob and be on the lookout for me next year! Overall a decent first year for me in the NFBC.

Wow guys, I'm blushing over here. Thanks for the kind words (although, Glenn, I vociferously object to any suggest that I do not suck at football; I most certainly do. I'm also kind of a dick).

Sitting around after the auction and grabbing drinks and talking baseball with Lindy/Gabe, Glenn, and Jupinka was, in fact, the highlight of my Vegas trip this year (obviously, I didn't make it to the Rhino). This was the fantasy equivalent of talking hitting with Ted Williams, WIllie Mays, and Mickey Mantle. All incredible players with unparalleled success. We all should be that lucky.

Let me add....if you're a drafter that isn't sure about whether they can compete in an auction is on the fence about joining one, do it. This was my first NFBC auction ever. If I can win it, anyone can.

Great job and a great year, Michael. And great job by The Million Dollar Man on taking down the Ultimate Auction, which, percentage-wise, is basically the equivalent of a bad LeSean McCoy tip when compared to his Fanduel win. Unfortunately, while I was sitting with Dave the night before at the Cosmo talking about the DFBC the next day, Dave choose not to share his Dr. Evil-style plan to fade the Rockies/Reds and bust a water main in front of the stadium.

I agree with both Lindy and Bobby here that hanging out with these legends having a drink or two talking about all things fantasy baseball is the kind of thing that makes these live events special. It was a real nice night and a great way to end a great weekend. (Though I also agree that the Rhino may have been a nice option as well. :D )

You missed the Rhino? That's where a certain former champ gets all his ducks lined up each year!

Congrats Bob...well fought, well won, and well deserved!
People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.
