Looking For Feedback On FAAB For 2015

At the end of every season, we like to get feedback from our users so that we can prepare for the next season. This year we added a new FAAB setup thanks to the suggestions of our owners and hopefully it saved you some time throughout the season. We did leave the old Free Agent page up all season so that owners could use a familiar free agent page and we are now adding that same FAAB setup to the NFFC site.

I want to accomplish a couple of things with this thread. First, I'm asking for your help with the poll above to see how you used the two Free Agent pages this year. This will help us understand how you made your free agent pickups each week.

Secondly, we are looking for constructive feedback on the FAAB pages and if you have any other suggestions to save time on your Sundays going forward. If there are any suggestions that would help even further, we'll definitely look at it. Let's use this thread entirely for FAAB to get your feelings on the current setup and then anything else we can do to make Sundays less time consuming and more enjoyable for you. If we can save you time on Sundays that helps you and it may allow you to play even more leagues in the NFBC, which is good for us. So let's work together on this part of the game.

Thanks for the feedback here and thanks for a great 2014 season everyone.

I just voted on 'Majority of the time'. I liked the new set-up.
If bettering the new FAAB system for my uses, I would do the following....

1. Easier access to placing players in our FAAB lists. We have a tracking tool when searching a player. These 'trackers' are nice, but I don't use them much because my needs fluctuate from week to week. Besides the tracking tool, I would like an icon that places a searched name into my FAAB list. A reminder that I want that player. And he'll be already on a list when dealing with FAAB later in the week.

2. For some reason while looking for other players on a started FAAB lists, the icons such as deleting a name or moving a player up or down vanishes. I'd like these to be options at all times. I have to hit 'refresh' to get these icons back.

3. Last year, the NFBC had an immediate pop up telling us to list the dropped player. It was rightly removed.
I would like a pop-up to appear, however, to appear if trying to leave the page without installing the dropped player. Sometimes, I get in a hurry and do forget to remedy the dropped player spot.

Used the old setup almost exclusively. There was something visually unappealing about the new setup that I just couldn't get past.

Liked the new setup but my new computer and it could just never get along for it to work properly for me. Maybe by next year I can figure what was wrong from my end or your group can improve something from your end if that's what needed but right now am not sure what is causing it to not work properly.

Kenny, let's get this resolved with your computer. Email me at [email protected] the name and type of laptop you bought, the browser you are using and any other info. I'll forward to IT and do all we can to get you set up. It should definitely work for any new computer and there's no way we want the same struggles this season. Thanks.

Hi Greg,

I know these have been brought up for years now.

#1 - the ability to tag a Free Agent for multiple teams. I'd like for the option if I'm in one of my teams to add a FA to a thread and have a box pop up and show me if that same player is available in my other leagues. From that team, it would be great to be able to add that player to a thread in my other league. I'm not a huge fan of the current watch list option as it gets stale very quick if you don't update it every week. I want the ability to add to a bidding thread. So many of us have multiple teams. This would be a game changer for FAAB.

#2 - The ability to add a player to a bidding thread or watch list from the player page. We used to have the option in years past to add to the watch list from the player page.

The site has come a long way throughout the years for the better. You have plenty of folks here who would be very happy to test the system for IT. Getting enhancements like this before the season starts would be awesome. Thanks for listening.

Jason

Thanks Jason. Let's keep all enhancement ideas just for FAAB here, like we're doing now. I'll create a separate thread tomorrow for other technical improvement ideas to the rest of the site. This is a good start to the FAAB and we'll compile a list for IT when this is complete and see if any or all of this can be done. Thanks all.

I used tbe NEW FAAB exclusively the day it was released. Loved it, best FAAB system I've ever used. Blows ESPN, CBS, et al away. Can't believe people are still using the old FAAB. Effen baseball guys are so resistant to change. While I'm no computer programmer, I dont see how anyone can expect to be able to search for a single player or do a string of bids and just have that apply to all their teams & leagues. I would think that this would be impossible and I do not even see that as a realistic expectation.

Once the white/gray shading was added (it was added wasn't it?), I was good with the layout, though it took some getting used to.

Now, Let's get the new FAAB for Football now, PLEASE.

I was resistant to the change. Stayed the course with the old one for a few weeks but eventually got used to the new one and ended up loving it. I didn't realize how much I loved it until football started and I had to edit the player being bid on instead of simply moving the player down. Very surprised that this wasn't in place for week 1 in football.
