Ramblings.....

There is a lot happening in baseball. Times are a'changin. Well, some things are changing, the Rockies and Phillies remain the Rockies and Phillies.
What is cool is that young GM's are GM'ing like they are fantasy managers.
The Padres are trading for, gulp, hitting.
The Rays are trading a 24 year old wonderkid to get 'younger'.... for a 25 year old?
'Ahhhh, I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now'...A Dylan off season.

And Matt Kemp goes south to San Diego. For Grandal and some magic beans.
So the Dodgers can save money.
Then, the Dodgers tell Brian Wilson, "Keep the 10 million bucks and go home and take care of your beard."
The Royals sign Alex Rios for the same money that Brian Wilson gets for nothing.
Then again, as much as Wilson does this year for the Dodgers, Rios did last year.

The Royals let sloth and base clogger Billy Butler go.
Then signed sloth and base clogger Kendrys Morales.
The Rockies and Phillies remain the Rockies and Phillies.

The White Sox sign Melky...and Robertson...and Samardzjzrazjia (Damn, get a freakin' nickname, willya?)
The Marlins SPEND money. The Marlins.
The Blue Jays signed Russ Martin like he's a top tier catcher.
Remember when he used to run?
I know Russ Martin. I've seen Russ Martin.
Russ Martin is not a top tier catcher.

Now, Howie Kendrick can not win a batting title for the Dodgers.
J Roll goes to being one of many grampa's to being the Grampa.
Who follows in Williams, Yaz, Rice, and Greenwell's footsteps?
Hanley.
Ted Williams just rolled over in his grave. Wait, Ted's head just turned on ice.

Is it me or did Derek Jeter look and play younger than Teixeira and ARod....
I can't wait for the first CC Sabathia has lost 25 pounds and feels better than ever report...
Betances and Miller at the back, who do the Yankees have to get to them?
Shields?
Crappy nickname, James. Must have got it in High School.

The Reds will trade money players, but not Joey Votto.
The Reds need a young GM.
Alfredo Simon with the Tigers?
20% of his strike outs last year were against hitting pitchers....I mean non-hitting pitchers.
With the Tigers, he'll be eaten up like linguini alfr...never mind, too easy.

Joe Mauer looks like James Loney at first base on a fantasy team.
Adam Jones had an adp of 11 last year. Then played up to his first round position.
So naturally, he has an adp of 14 this year.
Meanwhile, Hanley Ramirez stays a second rounder.
Makes sense.

Adam Dunn was ahead of his time.
Ask Chris Carter. Or Chris Davis. Or Chris Berman.
Big Donkey...That's a nickname any man would be proud to have.
The Giants lost a zoo animal. A panda.
They still have a baby giraffe.
Now THAT, is Big Game.

The Marlins have Fernandez.
The Dodgers have Puig.
The Diamondbacks have Tomas.
And now Obama wants to embrace Cuba.
We're way ahead of you....

The Mets signed Michael Cuddyer.
Don't tell the Rockies...
Brett Anderson signed with the Dodgers for Brian Wilson money.
I think they want him to play though.

Manny Machado and Josh Donaldson will be in the same league.
C'mon, if you were Donaldson, wouldn't you be tempted to scrawl a little " Fu** You' in the dirt next to third base for Machado to see?
Brett Lawrie was traded to Oakland.
His talents fit any ball park. He can get hurt anywhere.

Phil Hughes had the best k/bb ratio in baseball during the live ball era, last year.
My wife thinks Joe Mauer still catches.
Brian Dozier was on his way to a 30-30 season last year.
If wanting to commit murder and want it unnoticed, do it in Minnesota....on their field.

AJ Burnett gave up more runs than any other pitcher in baseball last year.
The Pirates gave him 8 million bucks to do it again.
Too literal for a genie.
8 million DOLLARS.
And he'll throw to Francisco Cervelli.

Justin Verlander gave up the second most runs. The Tigers kept him.
And Joe Nathan.
The Tigers do not have a young GM.
Verlander does have the only Upton that is not up for trade.

And we know that if Vitale were a baseball guy, he'd be calling the Cubs, 'The Diaper Dandies'.
It'll be fun to watch the Cubs this year.
That hasn't been said for a long time.
And the Rockies and Phillies, remain the Rockies and Phillies.

Great, great read Dan. Almost did a couple of spit-takes.

On Kemp...

"A Padres official told Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports that the team is "still inconclusive" in its evaluation of Matt Kemp's physical. The official also said the trade is "not yet" in jeopardy, and Rosenthal notes that the Dodgers have been told nothing in regards to concerns about the physical. The Padres were supposed to meet Wednesday to discuss the physical in advance of Thursday's deadline to complete the deal. There's certainly cause for concern that the trade won't be completed as-is, but we'll just have to wait and see how everything shakes out."

If ballparks were Rhode Island, Kemp just moved to Alaska.

If health is an egg-white omelette, Kemp is a bucket of bacon grease.

And Kemp going late second/early third in the early drafts (accepting he will likely slip now)...Yup...Kemp is gonna be my outfield anchor! :?

OH Puhleese, Mike!
You believe in those player raters?
Who's high again?
Those raters always lean towards speed guys.
Dee Gordon as the ninth best player? Are you taking him that high?
Was he REALLY the ninth best fantasy player last year?
Do you have six pitchers ahead of Jones?
C'mon, Man.

Player rater #23 Adam Jones.....281/88/29/96/7
Player rater #24 Billy Hamilton .250/72/6/48/56

By the way, I thought about you as the White Sox signed Samardzrdjirjia.
You called him a punk while with the Cubs. Still a punk with your beloved White Sox?
(I do hope that in the future Samardzdriijia and Saltylablahblah end up on the same team...great battery)
