8 SPOTS LEFT In The NFBC Platinum League

Last year the first league to sell out was our debut NFBC Platinum League, which had a $20,000 league entry and a $200,000 league prize. Donn Johnson and Gino Yu won that title and the biggest league prize in NFBC history last year in a close finish that saw Ken Norred finish second and David DiDonato finish third. It was a very tight race in a very competitive league.

Now it's time to turn our attention back to that prestigious league, which was aired live on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio last year with the intent to do so again this year. Despite what happened at season's end, this is still our highest-profile private league and everyone will agree it was the most intense fantasy baseball draft they've ever been a part of. The competition was intense as it was everything you'd want in a high-stakes league.

With football done and everyone knowing how much they won in each sport, it's time to bring focus back to this league. It might be tougher to fill this league this year, but one way or another we are having a high-dollar private draft league on Saturday night. Two years ago, we had an NFBC Diamond League on Saturday night and another one on Sunday morning, so we know there's interest in this on the First Weekend in Las Vegas. Let's work together to fill this one up.

Also, I'm open to suggestions on the prize payouts if that will help this league. We definitely like the glamour of the $200,000 league prize, but it is a very steep drop from 1st to 2nd ($60,000), with 3rd getting $35,000. I've already gotten some feedback from owners who wouldn't mind seeing a flatter payoff. I'm game for anything in this league or the Diamond League to get the participants back. Let's work together to do it.

Again, I'm talking with SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio about broadcasting this league again in some fashion. They loved the one hour format before the draft that included interviews with our participants and then the three hours of draft results. It's not a guarantee that it will happen again this year, but we are definitely talking about this, the New York drafts the next weekend and more with our partners there. Stay tuned.

Okay, contact me if you have interest in this league or the Diamond League and we'll keep the ball rolling. Some of you NEED tax writeoffs from your big football winnings 8-) , so this league works perfectly for that. We have seven owners now with Glenn Lowy listed as tentative for now, so let's see where this takes us. I'm at [email protected] if you have interest. There is no other league like this in the industry, so let's get a second year of competition going. Thanks all and good luck.
