$150 Fast/Slow draft for ANYONE is sold out

Post by DDK » Sat Jan 17, 2015 9:39 am

I am very interested in the fast/slow concept. First, my question to Greg is...if this is open to everyone and the first fifteen who say "in" on this thread are in, will it be eligible for overall money? I would really like to participate in groups willing to commit to 8 to 10 round days but there seems to be a lot of drama around those previously created with apparent exclusiveness. I am also willing to facilitate as best as I can...I do have a job and life and stuff. So if Greg gives the OK to trying this...I will be the first "in."

*UPDATE: Greg has given his blessing. This will be a part of the overall money pool.

1) Dorian Kinman
2) Kenny Enfield
3) Dan Setlock
4) Edward Kiss
5) James Maples
6) Anthony Visano
7) Mark Winokur
8) Norm Kent
9) Scott Davis
10) Chad Fleming
11) Stan Kaye
12) Dan Kenyon
13) Mike Massatto
14) Richard Van Fleet
15) Jim Christie

Hi Dorian.
I think I can answer these questions for you. First, yes, these leagues will be eligible for the Overall money.
Throwing a fast/slow inviting EVERYBODY is a good idea. Some veterans in the NFBC 'know' a lot of folks and will make it exclusive to those they do know. They mostly do this knowing these folks will be fast, reliable, and responsible.

I am all for fast/slows. The largest pain in the ass of public drafts is that 14 drafters could be on the same page and one drafter can ruin it for them. At least with fast/slows built from the Message Boards, everybody who signs up knows the responsibility of being available to draft 8-10 rounds a day.
If needing help, pm me or contact me at the email address that is available in one of the leagues we have done together.
Good luck.

Dan

OK. Dan says this should be fine for overall money and to my knowledge he has never been wrong ;) I will wait for the OK from Greg before submitting but let's get the list started.

Dorian,

I'm completely fine with this approach yet I do believe it'll be harder to fill either league with both taking signups at the same time.

It's my understanding there's no reason the league I've set up would not be eligible for the overall prizes (despite what the haters will suggest) but if you'd be willing to do the rest of the work setting up the league I'm happy to put all the names from the other list on yours and shut down my thread.

I'm not in the league so that won't be an issue. I'm not trying to cherry pick like MTM did with his two signups I was just following his lead in exclusiveness. If leaving people out means no eligibility for the overall prizes then his leagues would be out too, right?

Let me know if you want the list as is stands so far.

Cheers!

I hope everyone understands I did not start this to step on the toes of yours or the other leagues. I just feel, personally, that an issue could arise in regards to overall money being issued where anyone was denied access. I realize my opinion and five nickels will get me a quarter. However, just in case, that is my reason.

I have no problem with those in your list being added to this list but it should be done only with their consent. They may have signed up with certain expectations that aren't the case here. Not trying to be difficult. I simply don't want to chance it. EVERYONE is welcome :)

.

I'll send you the contact info for each person on the list Dorian. Many of them don't read the message boards and agreed to sign up by text message. You'll recognize most of their names since they were in DC26 with us.

Glad you're doing a league open to everyone.

I put your name on the list. I will give the 15 names to Greg when we get there and he will form a league for us.

Stan's last name is Kaye.
I was just going to cheerlead for this league to get together, but there are so many quality people in this one, I have to join.
Looking forward to seeing everybody.
Thanks Dorian.

I guess there is no guarantee this would start tomorrow. We could request Tuesday as long as nobody has a problem with that. As for the 5-6 hours...nobody can guarantee they won't have anything come up that may cause reasonable delays. The important thing is communication. I don't think guys mind if they know it's coming and they can count on good runs the rest of the time. I don't have a problem with the Friday delay...I will leave the decision to you and your judgment.

Thanks
Dorian

If it helps, I suck at these, so count me in. Will do what I can to help facilitate. Looking forward to abusing some old friends and a few new ones as well. Let's fill this baby today so that we can be rolling tomorrow at 1 pm EST. 8-)
