Playing this format for the first time this season.
How many teams do most players draft?
Is there a point of diminishing return in terms in the ability to manage teams in season?
Number of leagues...
Re: Number of leagues...
Depends on the format. The DC leagues have no FAAB so there's less to do with those teams.

Re: Number of leagues...
How many FAAB leagues you do is directly related to how much time you have on Sunday afternoon. I've done more than 10 which is hectic, mid-single digits is more comfortably doable and probably just 2-3 if you don't have much time on Sunday.
Draft Champion (DC) leagues are easy to manage, just setting lineups twice a week. One FAAB league probably equals a half dozen draft champion leagues in terms of managing.

It really depends on how much time YOU can devote to managing your teams. Really strong players populate these leagues and your odds of doing well go down sharply if you cannot optimize your lineups. For me, I distinguish between Draft Championship leagues (where you have 50 players but no free agency) and other formats (where you have to do FAAB every week). Although the NFBC has worked to make FAAB as easy as possible, it still is the most time-consuming part of managing a team, at least for me. I expect to do 8-10 Draft Championship teams but will try to limit myself to a considerably smaller number of leagues with FAAB. Everyone is different, however, and there are folks who have more time for more FAAB leagues. Some folks do just one or a couple of teams, while others do many more than me.
Good luck. These leagues are a lot of fun.

Re: Number of leagues...
I have 2 daily leagues in different formats.
So the DC draft & hold leagues appear to be a good complement.
