SOLD OUT: NFBC FAST DC That Starts Tomorrow

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Sat Jan 24, 2015 3:53 pm

Okay, we will add a FAST $150 Draft Champions option to Registration shortly, but until then we'll offer that option here. The clock will be set at 4 Hours Per Pick, but we hope to get through at least 5 rounds per day, so only sign up for this format if that pace suits you. I'll let Dan Kenyon's wording set the tone for this league:

"A fast/slow draft is reserved for those who maintain constant access with phone or computer. Expectations are that they will draft within minutes of being up in a draft. And if not, communicating to others why they will not. Most fast/slow picks are made in seconds, some in minutes, hours for the dead of night only."

This league is tied into the Draft Champions National Championship and the $25,000 grand prize and you can sign up by posting here or by contacting me at [email protected]. Again, eventually we will add this option to Registration, but until then this is our way of getting these dedicated leagues off the ground and running regularly. Hopefully it will attract several new owners who want a faster option and we attract new members to this format. Let's see.

Please don't sign up online for this one yet; just contact me or post your intentions here. Thanks for the suggestions all and here's the current signup list for the next FAST $150 Draft Champions League:

I'll start this off. One question...does the clock stop for sleeping hours or is it 4 hours continual?

It stays on. If folks wanted us to extend the clock to 8 hours overnite to accomplish the same thing we could do that. Just a thought.

Okay, I'll add you to the list. Thanks

I'll vote with my dollars in favor of this third DC model. Plus, you need at least one guppy in the mix.

confused by 4 hour clock - if it's fast it's fast. people sleep. could make it a 400 hour clock. if somebody signs up on this here do they need 4 hour clock?

If you're going to ask us what we want...I would vote for a sleeping hour extension.

Not sure if I could pull this league off with my schedule this week, but I wanted to point out that with a little coordination, the four hour clock is no problem at night. Last year, I did one or two drafts with a four hour clock. When folks are ready to call it a night, Player A puts his top choice at the head of his queue and the next owner, Player B, puts his top two choices at the head of his queue. They do not use Auto. Thus, when it is beddy-bye time, the clock will run four hours and Player A gets his pick and then the clock runs another four hours and Player B gets his first choice or, if taken with the prior pick, his second choice. This way, everyone gets an eight hour break during the overnight hours before resuming at what presumably is a much faster pace in the morning. Doing it this or a similar way can get the league through the overnight hours pretty easily, while maintaining a faster pace all other hours. All it takes is coordination in the chat room by two consecutive owners. Just a suggestion if the four hour clock cannot be lengthened automatically late at night.

I'm fine with Mike's suggestion, as well. In fact, that is probably the best solution...until somebody doesn't play nice. Whatever you think is best Greg.

Since most of us out here on the east coast will be snowed in tomorrow into Wednesday, how about a nice mix of recruits both old and new from the previous three Fast DC's jump into this one? Who's game? If this thing fills by tonight, we'll be going by tomorrow and bang out about 20 rounds in a day. Don't make me text you. Just sign up on this thread ASAP! That is all. 8-)

Just heard from the Ice Cream Man, Roy Ericson. He's a Jersey boy who's also a go for this one. He'll sign up when he gets in off the road. Let's keep the sign-up's coming! 8-)
