We're happy and proud to announce today that David DiDonato of Smithfield, Rhode Island has been selected to the NFBC Hall of Fame. He becomes the fourth member of our prestigious NFBC Hall of Fame, joining Steve Jupinka (Class of 2011), Shawn Childs (Class of 2011) and Lindy Hinkelman (Class of 2012).

David first joined the NFBC in 2005, our second year of existence, thanks to the recommendation of a close friend and immediately made a name for himself. David won the debut NFBC Ultimate League in 2005 and he also finished 3rd in his first Main Event League. In 2006, DiDonato won the $100,000 grand prize and his league title, while finishing 3rd in the Ultimate League. The next year he again won his Main Event League title and finished third in the Ultimate League.

During his 10 seasons in the NFBC, DiDonato has won $310,050, currently the third best winning total in NFBC history. He has entered 36 different leagues during that time, winning 8 league titles, including 3 Main Event League titles, 2 Ultimate League titles (more than anyone else) and 1 Primetime League title. Along with winning the Main Event overall title, he's finished as high as 4th overall in the Draft Champions format in 2013, and 7th (2012) and 9th overall in the NFBC XII (2013). He's won in national contests, he's won in high-dollar private leagues, he's won in 15-team formats and he's won in 12-team formats. It's a resume that is very impressive with plenty of time to add to it.

Congratulations David. You were definitely worthy of this honor before this year, but we're happy to be honoring you now and look forward to the official induction in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 28th at the Bellagio before the Main Event. We know you are a man of few words, so keep the speech under 30 minutes!!

This is a very select class of honorees through 11 seasons of competition, but we know there are several other owners who are very deserving and could easily be added in the next year. We wish everyone the very best this year and we look forward to adding more people to the NFBC Hall of Fame in 2016. We'll celebrate David's accomplishments first, though.

Congrats to David once again. It's great to see so many great owners giving him well wishes. It will be a lovefest in Las Vegas in March with so many great owners there. Oh, and we'll give David some love too!!

I hope everyone knows that this is NOT an easy process each year. David was deserving years ago and after he won a Main Event league title, a Primetime league title and a Draft Champions league title in 2013 we probably should have added him to the Hall of Fame then. But look at that total body of work above and you can see how deserving he is.

There are several other worthy candidates on our radar. We listed 9 people in 2011 when we considered the first Hall of Fame class and some of those owners have added to their resumes and some have slowed down. But we still have them on our radar along with a few other deserving candidates. We'd love to add more owners to the NFBC Hall of Fame in 2016, so keep on winning everyone. It would be fun to induct more owners next year.

We have 4 Hall of Famers in the NFBC and 7 in the NFFC. It may stay that way through 2015; we'll see. Keep winning everyone and continued good luck in all your leagues.

Oh, and while I called David with the good news on Monday, he was in the middle of shoveling out 40 inches of snow and plugging leaks in his roof at his restaurant/concert room. It's been a brutal winter for the Northeast, even for our Hall of Famers. WELCOME TO THE NFBC HALL OF FAME DAVID!! Our roof is holding up fine!!
