Last night on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio they hosted the LABR Mixed Draft League. This was an NFBC-style draft with 15 teams and 29 rounds. The draft board is here for all to view:

Tom and I will talk about this draft on our show tonight, but here were some interesting picks:
Miguel Cabrera went 10th overall
No 2nd SP until Max Scherzer went at 23. King Felix went 27th; the lowest he’s gone in the NFBC is 22.
Billy Hamilton went 20th overall.
Yasiel Puig went 21st overall last night.
CarGo went 42nd – ahead of NFBC ADP (48.58)
Interesting strategy by Jeff Erickson – Started with Trout and Sale in the second but then didn’t take another SP until Homer Bailey in the 14th round. Took two closers (Holland Jansen) back-to-back in Rounds 4 and 5.
Fred Zinkie (MLB.com) was only person to take two SPs in the first 3 rounds – Felix (2nd) and Strasburg (3rd)
Victor Martinez went 89th. Shields went 97th. Josh Hamilton went 291. Arenado 56/Seager 64. Alex Rodriguez 388. Kris Bryant 139. Jose Fernandez 203. Matt Harvey 94. Fielder 54.
Thoughts?

Important to note that there's trading -- and apparently Zinkie is already hitting the phones

Re: LABR Mixed League Draft Results
Todd...I followed along last night. can you take us through your thought process a little?
was Altuve the target in the first? I was thinking Rizzo was gonna be your guy but he went....and probably Rendon after that who went right before you.
Then coming back around...are you big on Hanley with the inf elig ...who else where you considering there?
your OF looks good and of course you got Calhoun so all is right in the world. I thought your SP came together late but you did a nice job putting it together after not throwing many picks towards it early

I'll have a pick-by-pick review on Mastersball tomorrow and a discussion of my general strategy on Fantasy Alarm.76erfan wrote:Todd...I followed along last night. can you take us through your thought process a little?

Re: LABR Mixed League Draft Results
Steve Gardner of USA Today had the 6th pick and got Giancarlo Stanton there. That's where Stanton went in the FSTA Draft a month ago as well. Here's a look at Steve's quick comments:

Re: LABR Mixed League Draft Results
Thoughts? My thoughts are as usual when I see these industry "expert" drafts: they are amusing to look at and compare contrast to the ones that are done by the true experts that draft in the high stakes leagues of the NFBC where there is money on the line and no fucking trading which completely illegitimizes any of the outcomes of these types of leagues anyway. So discuss and debate away, then move along because there is nothing to see here...except maybe Zola's team and his overly obsessive man crush on Kole Calhoun.Greg Ambrosius wrote:Last night on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio they hosted the LABR Mixed Draft League. I am longing for the day when all of these guys get together and each slap down at least $5000 per person or company within a true NFBC style format so that it all means something to us. Then let's see how they draft and who the best is...and better yet, mix them in with the best competitors from the NFBC and let's see how they do. This would bear paying attention to. Until then, the good ole boys, their strategies, and their drafts don't mean squat to me. But who am I to have an opinion anyway?

I agree with Baseball Furies. Mock drafts with no skin in the game are useless.
That being said, these guys I'm sure are competitive and don't like wasting their time, so I'm sure there is some side betting.
