Yu Darvish

Hopefully, other Major League pitchers will follow Darvish lead, for our sakes, and have a diagnosis this large before the Big drafts in late March and Early April.
Drafters that have taken Darvish in drafts leading up to now are certainly playing at a disadvantage.

This is as depressing as the Jose Fernandez injury last year.

I didn't buy or draft Darvish in any of the multitude of leagues which I've participated in so far this preseason but as a baseball fan and pitching enthusiast this sucks. Yu was must see tv when on the bump.

USA Today reported last week that there were 31 Tommy John Surgeries last year, up from an average of 15 per year from 2001-11. Let's hope this year we don't top last year's numbers, but this isn't a good start.

Unlike Fernandez who I invested in huge last year, I only own Yu in the Beckett league. Just a drag that this might be a lost season for him. The Rangers were totally decimated by injury last year and losing Profar and possibly Darvish already is just brutal.

Remember a number of asshole articles in September last year calling Darvish out for shutting it down on a bad team, suggesting he wasn't really hurt.
I hope they apologize.

Any owners taking Darvish got exactly what they deserved. This was the easiest injury call of the offseason. Tanaka is a close second

I know he wasn't on my target list at all; but this is from a guy all-in with Harvey

It would be nice if Calvin Watkins apologized for his stupid comments about Yu last year, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Totally agree; as a huge Texas fan, this is a very disappointing start to 2015

Did an early NFBC online auction on 3/3 and Harvey went for $22. In earlier online auctions he went for $15 on 1/30 and for $17 on 2/22. $22 is pretty close to 3 round territory already!

Agree with Gekko on this one. Darvish was a very easy one to avoid, he was hurt last year, he chose to do nothing, no surgery, just rest. It was an injury waiting to happen early on this year.
Harvey, on the other hand, was an easy one to take, which I did in my auction. Kudos to the Mets for not pitching him last season at all, he has had plenty of time off since his TJ surgery and looks ready to dominate this season.
