$$BREAKOUT - Verlander$$

In case folks aren't following, Verlander decreed earlier this offseason that he is completely healthy and has now tossed 5 scoreless innings this spring (while allowing a measly 2 hits). Don't be surprised when we see vintage Verlander this year. His price point is insanely low right now. Our own HoF Shawn Childs realizes the profit in Verlander this year and snookered the LABR participants by acquiring Verlander for $11. Nicely done Mr Childs.

Most leagues are won by owners who acquire the breakout players at discount prices. Last year they were Rendon, Brantley and VMart. I liken Verlander to VMart. Both have done it before and both were injured (or receovering from injury) in the season prior to their breakout.

Good luck everyone 8-)

On Gekko breakout list and EK sleeper list. That is one jinx from hell he will have to overcome. It looks like he may be done for the rest of his career for sure now. :D

If that's the case Kenny, Verlander has a pile of cash and a nice woman to retire with. We all wish we had it so bad!!

According to Rotoworld, Verlander was hitting 94 mph on the gun with his fastball.

Verlander said he is 100% healthy (unlike last year)...check
Childs endorsed...check
94mph fastball...check

Folks, your buying window is closing. Enjoy his rise back to an elite SP. All the signs are there 8-)

Also gave up four runs in four innings, including home runs to sluggers Tony Gwynn, Jr. and Kila Ka'aihue. I try not to put much weight into Spring Training results, but that certainly sounds like the Verlander I saw all too much of last year.
