The First Annual MTM "Iron Balls" UFD, Vegas 2016!

Well it's been hinted about, talked about, asked about, and then just about demanded of me, so here's what I came up with for my return to Vegas for the NFBC live events in 2016. As everyone knows who has been tracking the thread, four years ago I came up with the concept of the MTM Live Super Event in NYC as an invitational to showcase the best of the best in the East. I wanted to go up against 14 of the best players and biggest money winners that the NFBC had to offer for bragging rights, a mother of a league champion's travel trophy, and of course a high stakes prize. I wanted it to have a home league feel with over-the-top hype, "celebrity facilitators", and all the while making it a unique experience for the worthy competitors who gathered to lock horns at the draft table all live and in person. I can honestly say that I am very happy with what I created. The MTM Super has exceeded all expectations, and each year I have been trying to top the one before that, and this year will be no different. I have had the pleasure of meeting, becoming friends with, and competing against some of the best players ever to compete in the NFBC. In its inaugural season, I believe there was over $700,000 in combined lifetime earnings drafting in the first MTM Super draft. It was truly a humbling experience, which was further reinforced by my tied for last place finish that first year. Needless to say, I heard it good after that one from all who reveled and took joy in my miserable showing. But just as baseball is a game of redeeming features as they say, so too is it in our fantasy game. The next year I went from worst to first and took the league crown which came down to a three-way battle on the last day of the season. It was definitely the most validating experience ever in the NFBC to hear from so many great competitors the next few days congratulating me on my big win. Last year I returned to NYC as the reigning champ to defend my title only to promptly shit the bed with an injury plagued disaster of a season, and we again crowned yet another new champion, the third in three years. The popularity and interest in the event has grown so much, that next year there are already more interested competitors than there are spots in the league available. But what about the west coast competitors who had been clamoring for a Vegas version of the MTM? It had to be done I was told time and time again.
So after much contemplation and conversation with my advisory board
, next year in Vegas, I will premiering the First Annual MTM Ultimate Fucking Draft...an NFBC live Super event that will be every bit as no holds barred and over-the-top of an event worthy of Sin City. So here are the particulars:
1. It's an NFBC Super, so the buy in is $2500 to compete, but there will also be a $500 additional side fee of which 100% which be invested by me and my event planner to make it an event!
2. The event is tentatively scheduled to be held on Friday night of the first weekend in Vegas at 10:00 p.m. with pre-draft festivities beginning at 9:00 p.m. Post draft festivities like no other immediately afterwards.
3. Now for the little twist: Since it's not being called "Iron Balls" for nothing, all competitors have to draft all 30 rounds "bare knuckles", which means you will be provided an official league pen and a notepad with a list of all 30 major league baseball team names at the time of entering the draft room, and that's all you get! No cheat sheets. No draft rankings. No computers. No smart phones. No nothing of anything else will be allowed. I will even have everyone frisked and searched if I have to just to make sure everyone goes in clean. I'm even considering only one chaperoned bathroom break at most again in true iron balls fashion, but these details will be worked by the time we draft.
4. KDS will be "Iron Balls" as well just like the MTM Super in NYC, which means the draft order will be drawn immediately prior to the event with the competitors choosing their spots as their names are drawn.
5. During the draft, each time anyone calls out the name of a player that has been drafted already, that competitor will be assessed a $50 penalty fee which will go into the pot to be used towards the following year's event festivities. Each subsequent cumulative offense by that competitor will be $100. So in essence, if you haven't figured it out already, you're really going to have to know your shit to compete in this bad boy!
6.This draft is invitation only to start. The competitors list is below. If you want out, you can bear the shame of bowing out on this thread, and I will give your spot away to someone else who has the balls to participate in your place.
This is truly going to be a test of men, and winning a title in this league will truly be an exceptional feat. The league champion will be duly honored as such the following year. Most of all, this will be an amazing challenge and one total blast of a competition! I will be spending the next year working on it, so you know that it will be all that it is hyped up to be and more. So here's the 2016 UFD competitors list that I have put together.
