Favorite Bar food for watching MLB

Post by Deadheadz » Thu May 14, 2015 6:58 pm

.

I'm currently on a business trip to Halifax, Nova Scotia and came out tonight looking for a good sports bar where I can watch the Jays and Astros square off.
If you're ever in this city the place to go is Bubba Ray's downtown. Must be 50 screens here and lucky for me there's no NHL games tonight.

Tried something new and it's already rocketed to #1 on my list of bar foods: Deep Fried Pepperoni.
Freaking awesome.

It's wing night too so I'm trying 3 of the 40+ flavors.

It got me wondering what you guys like to eat while out in public to watch your favorite sport.

Beer --- That would be the 'good stuff' -- craft beers or beers brewed 'on site'. Not piss-water aka Budweiser, Coors and the like.

I'm at the age now (45) where I must eat something at night if having a few beers otherwise it's hangover city the next morning and we can't have that with work always being there.

So give me whatever is cheap on the menu - frickles (fried pickles), onion rings, etc.

Enjoy your games!

Agree on the craft beers. Shiner in Texas is a good dark beer. As far as food, crawfish season is going on down here and that is a great bar food. Pain to actually get to the meat part, but nice while watching a game, as it is like peanuts at the ballpark. Only the South guys know how devoted everyone is toward crawfish when they are in-season! :D

I have been known to suck some heads on mudbugs and I think I am too old for the deep fried pepperoni...CLEAR!

A great hot dog has got to be in the conversation...make you feel like you are at the game. And ribs. Ribs have to be in the conversation. But truly the only think you have to have is beer. After that, well, it is all just the cherry on top....
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Good craft beer. Our local brewery here in Frederick, Md, Flying Dog are fantastic. Give me some proper thick cut fries with salt and malt vinegar too.

Agree with the french fries (freshly made, not frozen). My biggest food weakness. A nice cold one doesn't suck either. Damn, getting hungry and thirsty just typing this.
