Congrats to Glenn Schroter of Whitestone, New York for winning the 2015 NFBC Main Event and the $125,000 grand prize. Glenn is an NFBC Charter Member who joined the NFBC in 2004 and has been in the NFBC and the NFFC each of the last 12 years. Congrats to a great, great champion!!

This is Glenn's second Main Event league title, having won his first league title in 2006 when he competed in New York League 1. This year Glenn competed in Las Vegas League 3 on the First Weekend of NFBC drafts and ran away with the league title, scoring 138 points (92% of available points). That league title was worth $6,500. He also held off Don Warner for the overall title and the $125,000 grand prize, scoring 4,025.5 points (89.46% of available points).

Glenn competed in only two leagues this year: The Main Event, which he dominated, and the NFBC Diamond Auction League, which he won. He becomes the second owner to earn over $200,000 in a single year, earning $206,500. Only Lindy Hinkelman earned more in a single season before this season, earning $241,300 in 2009. Glenn's entry fees this year totaled: $11,600. Nice return on investment, Glenn.

The start of Trout-Bumgarner-Arrenado-Bryant-Betts-deGrom is pretty spot on. But then to add Arrieta in the 8th Round and Dallas Keuchel in the 15th round is tough to beat. And this is against a stacked league of veteran owners. Well done. Well done. Noah Syndergaard in Round 25 helped as well and Dan Haren in Round 22 wasn't bad.

Only one closer drafted in Andrew Miller, so he went ALL IN on a closer early in FAAB. More to come there, but great draft to start the run toward the $125,000 grand prize.

Glenn's big free agent pickup came on the Sunday of the season opener when Jason Grilli became the new closer in Atlanta. That was a frenzied night of bidding and Glenn got Grilli for $362. His first week FAAB bids:

Glenn will be on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio with me, Chris Liss and Jeff Erickson at Noon ET. Chris was in the same league as Glenn and finished 2nd in the league and 12th overall. Glenn and Chris both had great, great NFBC seasons. This should be a fun discussion today.

I called Glenn this morning and congratulated him on a fantastic season. He said the overall title was sewed up until 6 pm last night and you could tell the season has worn him out. He said the categories were so close that Don Warner still had a shot at the overall on Sunday. On Saturday he had three starting pitchers going and if all three had won he could have easily picked up 40 points in Wins. It's great to see owners battling for every point and knowing not only how their teams can pick up ground but how other teams can pick up ground on them.

This is why they call it a marathon!! Enjoy the spoils now. The hard work is done.
