They can meet me 60' 6" away

Putting aside the game last night and whether the Mets end up coming from behind and winning the world series, Noah Syndergaard did something last night that is very rare. He owned up to throwing high and inside to Escobar on the first pitch, backing him off the plate. He didnt say the ball slipped out of his hand or it got away from him. He admitted it, "That's my plate, not theirs. If they have a problem with me throwing inside, they can meet me 60' 6" away."
Several things about this statement and what it means....
1) The pitch had to happen. He needed to back him off the plate. And if you look at all of the replays, it wasn't even that far inside. It was exaggerated and the Royals, in all of their sportsmanship and professionalism (more bench clearing brawls than any team in baseball) killing Noah after the game was pretty pathetic, especially because....
2) Noah batted in this game TWICE!!! He knew he was batting. This isnt the American League DH crap. They had the chance to do something. They could have thrown inside to him, when he was trying to bunt. Nope.. they just whine after the game.
3) To reiterate, I dont support throwing at someone's head. But, you can play the replay 100 times. It wasnt even close to his head. It was high and inside. Escobar reaches out and hits every 1st pitch fastball, and this is how you do it. Period. Make him feel uncomfortable. I am old fashioned, maybe... but I grew up with Bob Gibson and guys constantly doing this. This is baseball. Please, stop with the whining, KC. You had your chance to retaliate and you fizzled out.
4) Ironically, the inside pitch fired up the Royals and could have backfired. But, that doesnt mean anything. It had to be done and it was done. But, how often do you see a player own up to it and admitting it?
Who knows what happens now... maybe the Mets lose in 5 games. Or maybe they win the whole thing... but "THOR" earned his nickname last night and maybe becomes the lead guy of this young staff. He definitely has the best stuff.

100% agree on all points. Been waiting for this since Clemens threw the bat at Piazza. Baseball like it oughta be...

Some of your other takes make more sense now. The ball was on the batters box paint head high. It was bush league. Lost respect for him and the Mets. Not all that surprising you would encourage it though.
He also lied about his intent to Perez when he came up to bat. If he is such a tough guy, why didn't he tell the truth?

You are so completely predictable, I saw you had made a comment, in the main screen and I could have predicted exactly what you were going to say. Honestly, there is no one I respect less than you, so your comments mean nothing to me as a Mets fan or simply as a baseball fan. Your history of attacking and accusing pretty much everyone you compete with, speaks for itself.
Would love to hear from some other non-Mets fans, regarding this subject. Unlike what is portrayed in this comment, I never encouraged throwing at his head, and every replay I have seen, show that he wasnt. It was high and inside and something that is missing from today's game. He sent a message. There were no warnings, nor should there have been.

Thank heavens for that. I wouldn't want respect from someone that wants guys throwing on purpose near the head.

Alan, I agree with the entirety of what you wrote 100% The person in question in response to your post is a jackass and deserves about that level of credence applied to his level of credibility to anything that comes out of his mouth or that he posts here...unless it applies to buying his way to titles in the NFBC, of which he is an expert and we should all take notice.

This isn't good BK when you have this tool supporting you.

Speaking of which that reminds me of a funny story. We were I believe dead last in a primetime league about a third or halfway through. I happened to notice Furies was leading the league. I asked Joe how in the hell that happened. I told him at that time there is not a snowballs chance in hell Furies wins this thing. We need to beat his dumb ass. He got 11th. The worst player I have ever seen. Truly a donation at its finest. Thanks for supporting our buying of the title. How is your stupid ass Vegas hooker draft idea coming along Mikey?

Chad, if I were you, I would make sure that you and your drunken partner keep at least 60' 6" away from me in Vegas this year since your pussy ass is good at talking shit on here, but words that you would never dare utter to my face, even if you were able to string together a coherent sentence on your best day out there. So start getting ready for next season by buying in with your 100 or so teams just before the deadline so you can cover the field like you did this year...and at discount no less. Like those of us in the know don't know about your bullshit shenanigans. I have no respect for you and you've earned it no matter how much money you've "earned" playing this game.

It must be the off season as Mikey is throwing out his threats of physical violence once again. I hope you don't stay in shape by running back and fourth to the mailbox looking for your check.
Your post is littered with so many inaccuracies that I won't even justify them with a response. You try to play a contest that you're truly not very good at and in an effort to keep your friends you play the roll of enforcer / bouncer. So few of the NFBC family visit these boards. For you to even believe that your respect means anything to anyone (including your so called friends) is delusional.
Mikey, give it a rest, we're just fine with the lives we lead. As I get older, I really care less and less about what some folks think, including you.
One last thing I LOVE YOU JER!!

Back to topic.
Noah S looked like a smug prick in the post-game interview.
The Royals understood they were there to win a championship and not even a score. I am guessing Hochevar or another high octane pitcher will put one in the ribs of Cespedes (if he returns) or whichever Met is deemed the lead dog next season. Mark it down.
How ironic they open the season April 4 in Kansas City...

Agree. I didn't have a problem with the pitch. The tough guy act in the post-game came off kind of douchey to me, but I'm a royals fan, so that may be my bias talking. I could see where fans of the Mets would enjoy it. It's all part of being a fan. Fun to talk about, but in the grand scheme of things probably doesn't matter much. The Mets having to watch the ceremony at the K is punishment enough.
I am interested in how the Mets fans feel about Murphy's Chapstick antics in the field? It would drive me crazy for a guy to make those type of errors and then bust his Chapstick out like nothing happened.

Struck a nerve it appears. Don't threaten me you lying POS. I would tell you exactly what I think of you in person. You going to kick my ass? Lol. What a dork. As for your fraudulent accusations of "bullshit shenanigans," please inform those of us that are not in the know. You can't because you are a liar. Just a pathetic human being. Not much worse than idle threats and lies. Par for the course with you.

I would support higher event fees to rent an octogon and work this matter out LIVE IN VEGAS!

I think threats should be done via email, outside of our public forums. These guys have email addresses of their adversaries, so take it private everyone. Enough is enough.
