We have a LOT to be thankful for on this wonderful Thanksgiving Day holiday. Let's count the ways:

** We're thankful to be part of the best fantasy baseball community in the industry.
** We're thankful to be competing with some of the most passionate baseball fans you'll find anywhere.
** We're thankful to still legally be able to play this great game for cash prizes in the vast majority of our states.
** We're thankful to be playing on a site where prizes are GUARANTEED and payments are GUARANTEED, too.
** We're mostly thankful for the great friendships we've made through the years in this great competition.
** Oh, and we're thankful that the 2016 NFBC season has begun!

I feel like President Snow in Hunger Games, but welcome to the 13th edition of the National Fantasy Baseball Championship! Now who's ready to volunteer their young for a chance to survive through 26 grueling weeks of the NFBC? :D

The 2016 NFBC site is now open for business. All of the Contest links are live, prize grids are posted and Rules are viewable. We are now taking signups for all of our contests and we will start Draft Champions Leagues tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 27th. We are a little more than a week behind in our launch from past years, but we expect to make up for lost time in a hurry. We feel the passion to start drafting now and we expect this season to be another record breaking year.

As always, we won't charge for any future live events until Feb. 15. Online championship, Draft Champion and satellite leagues are charged when the leagues sell out. You can now sign up with ease and secure your spots for any of those contests. Plan accordingly and please be ready to draft once you sign up for the DCs. History has shown that we will fill at least one league per day from December through March, so always be ready to draft the next day if you sign up for one of those.

And let's have a great DC season. We don't expect people to be glued to their computers for those leagues, but we do expect you to follow the draft picks via email and to be ready to draft when you're on the clock. Set up a Que in advance of your pick with players you have in mind for your team and that will make your draft selection so much easier. We allow 8 hours per pick, but the goal is to get through 2 or more rounds per day, so don't be THAT GUY. Help to keep the leagues moving and you'll have the best 3 weeks of your drafting season.

Highlights of this upcoming season are as follows:

** $125,000 grand prize in the NFBC Main Event again this year. We have Sold Out this contest 11 straight years as it is the most prestigious contest in the baseball industry.

** A record $100,000 grand prize in the Rotowire Fantasy Baseball Online Championship. This year we are combining our live event 12-team drafts into this Online Championship with all owners competing for the largest grand prize in this contest's history. We are very excited about this format.

** A record $25,000 grand prize in the NFBC Auction Championship. This contest has been red-hot the last couple of years and now there's a grand prize that is going to spur even more attention to the mixed auction leagues.

** A record $28,000 grand prize in the NFBC Draft Champions National Championship. We are pushing the envelope with this one as we not only expect record numbers in the 8-hour format but we expect another big year in the Friday and Sunday night DC Express Leagues. We believe we can reach 3,000 teams in this format this year.

** The debut of the NFBC Cutline Championship League with a $40,000 grand prize and our lowest entry fee of $125. The best part about this contest is that there is an optimal scoring system where the computer picks your optimal lineup every week. You don't ever have to set your starting lineup and there are only four free agent periods during the season. We want you to draft more and work less during the baseball season. Check it out.

** More private league offerings. We know that many of you like the national contests with the big grand prizes, but many of you also like our private leagues where all of the prize money stays within the leagues. We are offering 12-team and 15-team private leagues in our Satellite offerings, so check those out. But we also have plenty of options in the Super, Ultimate, Diamond and Platinum Leagues. Check them all out now.

We are returning to the New York Hilton for live drafts and the Sheraton Northbrook in Chicago, so plan accordingly. We are still working on Las Vegas, but we hope to be returning to our favorite resort once again in 2016. More details to come shortly after the holidays, but all is looking good.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone and the 2016 baseball season is officially here. The NFBC is open for business. Who wants to be among the first to get their names on the 2016 NFBC Signup List? I'll start that one shortly and keep everyone updated with all of the latest signups for all of these leagues. Don't delay if you want to secure your spots for 2016.

I'm proud of the way the NFBC has grown since our scary debut in 2004. We could have easily been one-and-done after our first season, but all of you supported our idea and you all helped to create the best baseball community in the industry. NOBODY has baseball die-hards like the NFBC. Through the first 12 years of our baseball, football and basketball contests, we have awarded more than $31 million in prizes and we expect to reward another $3 million this baseball season.

Thanks for joining us for another season and let's all work TOGETHER to make this the best season ever. Thanks all and enjoy the Thanksgiving holidays and the 2016 MLB season.
