SOLD OUT: NFBC $400 Draft Champions 1

Post by Tom Kessenich » Mon Nov 30, 2015 8:16 am

The NFBC $400 Draft Champions League is part of the overall prize pool once again this year, which means that someone can win the $28,000 grand prize. But there's also a new league prize structure in the $400 DC this year as 1st place now earns $3,000, 2nd place $1,000 and third place $500. Now there's even more to be won in this format.

These leagues will start the day after they fill, so plan accordingly. Once they are filled, set your KDS preferences by midnight of that night, look for draft spots first thing the next morning and be ready to draft at 1 pm ET. Be prepared to make your pick when you are on the clock and let's get through 2-3 rounds per day. Thanks all and good luck.

I'd be in for this one if I knew I could keep it moving at like five rounds per day at least. Slower than that is like torture for me. ;)

It is very rare I go more than an hour in these leagues, so I'm hoping for around 5 rounds a day.

I had terrible luck with DC leagues last year with people purposely dragging out picks. One league actually had the time limit changed three times. Wish I had jotted down the offenders names!

Just to give a different perspective I preferred the old payout structure. Once you draft there isn't as much maintenance, or skill, to finishing well in a Draft Champions leagues. For that reason just having to make it to the top 3, and treating those teams equally, was more appealing to me due to lower risk. After all, the reason why we do these leagues is to DRAFT! Coming in 1st as opposed to 2nd is all about luck. Finishing 1 thru 5 instead of 6 thru 10, for example, is more about drafting skill.

In any event I'm inclined to join this league if it gets started before Christmas, but it doesn't seem to have much momentum so I think I'll hold off and monitor the situation.

I'm kind of surprised this league had ten openings on December 1st and it still has ten openings on January 5th.

I'm with MTM -- i.e., depending on the start date, I would probably be interested if all have an expectation of 5+ rounds per day.

No problem. I pick like I'm triple parked. Sometimes I don't even look to see who I'm getting. Not sure why MTM doesn't think he can handle this crew. :D

I'd be in as well, especially if MtM facilitates, and have been monitoring sign-ups before jumping in, but count me in if we get closer to 15.

Coz, no guarantees from what I know of those who are registered so far for this one that I can facilitate it at the needed pace to make if tolerable for me at least. If everyone chimes in and is willing to play ball, I will jump into this one and be happy to rock it and take down easy money since it pays top three the same money...which I don't get, but hey I'm just a dumb muscle head, so what the hell do I know?

They changed the payouts on the $400 DC so it's not equal payouts anymore. But I agree with your sentiment, only doing DC's with like-minded individuals from here on out.

I'm in if it's relatively fast-paced and hopefully Furies or someone like-minded facilitates. I'm done with the 8-hr DCs that are slow torture.

Chatted with David Miller, the first sign up.
He would prefer a fast/slow.

If Miller in fact is in for a fast DC like Doughy said, and Dookie and Steven are game for the same, I'll jump into this one and facilitate as long as we are done by the 14th. I believe several others on here would follow, so post if you'd be in as well...Marc? COZ? and anyone else who I may have missed who has expressed interest? Let's see what happens over the next 48 hrs. Thanks all. Just know what you're getting yourself into ahead of time. ;)

If this turns into a 4-day fast league I can't fully commit. Between work, a birthday party, and a vacation coming up in the next week-plus I have to drop. I was hoping we would've started this one a few weeks ago.

We have a $400 4-hour DC option. If there are 15 of you who want to do that sign up and get it started. :)
