Just thought I'd start a thread for place holders that Greg/Tom will have to add to their player data base.
I'm guessing that the fast paced draft has many, since our slower draft just found that Blake Snell was not included.
So, I'll start it with Snell and let other drafters add more players that should be included...

This should also save drafters the time in looking for them once they've entered the draft room.
Hopefully, we can get an e.t.a. as to when these players will be added.

everyone sign up for their DC leagues early this year. my portfolio of DC's will all be from Feb/Mar timeframe

These players are all draftable. They are just not in the NFBC player base.

To draft them, you'll have to use a place holder designation and announce in the chat room which player you are taking.
Until these players are added, it is a good idea to have one person from each draft, e-mail Greg/Tom after the draft telling them who drafted each place holder after the draft concludes.

Draft a placeholder at their position then post in the chat the player you want and send an e-mail to Greg and Tom.

Sure, we can send to IT. I wasn't going to piecemeal these one by one, so it looks like we have a strong list now that I can send to them. I don't think they can add the unsigned foreign players until they sign with an MLB team, but we can add the low minor-league guys. Thanks for the list and let me know when you add more.

Last year, they assigned a team (I think it was Seattle) to the Asian players until signed by their real team.
It worked well.

Very far be it for me to be a Debbie Downer on this, but I think that it's absolutely absurd that we as customers need to research, prepare, and then forward this list every year to IT during the middle of our drafts in order for them just to have a complete list of eligible players for us to draft from their archaic draft room which is bad enough as it is. Instead of making fucking excuses for them, just demand that this be made a priority ASAP...and how about next time in advance of the site going live and drafts beginning? Ridiculous.

This should be a routine every year.

Once we've done our homework in October and early November, a single, comprehensive list of players should be sent to IT a few days before the first Draft Champions league starts that they add, and once the players are added, DC 1 starts.

Hyun-Soo Kim should also be added.

Any update as to when these players will be added to the system?

We hope to have them in the next day. Again, they aren't an easy add because of the way the company assigns Player IDs within the data base. We're tagging them first for the NFBC and then for the rest of their careers in the STATS data base. So we need help here, but we're getting it now. Keep drafting these obscure players and little do they know that you guys are officially entering them into the STATS data base.

If you've participated in a DC that is done and have full Placeholders please send to me at [email protected]. We'll get those fixed ASAP and make sure all lineups are full. All DCs going forward will have a vast majority of players in the pool. The foreign players won't be added until they sign with an MLB team, but you can still draft them as Placeholders.

However, we're in the middle of a slow draft and now some players that had been drafted as placeholders (e.g., Maeda, Snell, Reed) are now showing as being available in the draft room. Any suggestions on how we should handle this for the remainder of the draft? We don't need the same players drafted twice.

Probably should be discussed in chat, although not everyone will be present. Guess the two things I'd suggest are: (1) send an e-mail to everyone in the League reminding them not to take certain players that already were taken via placeholders; and (2) make sure the League News, on the League home page, has a running, updated list of all placeholders taken.
