FINAL Average Auction Values available for download

With the growing popularity of the on-line auctions, we thought it would be cool to generate an Average Auction Value list, similar to an ADP. Rumor has it Greg and Tom may even refer to it on their SiriusXM show. I now write for Rotowire and have a weekly guest spot on their Tuesday show and will be sure to refer to it when possible.

The link is below, I'm taking the liberty of routing you through a page that pitches a certain fantasy baseball service, so apologies in advance.

Here's where you can find the auction prices that Greg and Andy will be talking about on SXM tonight.

Sirius XM probably has a free trial that you could sign up for. Most of the shows seem to be archived so you can go back and listen to whatever. I don't know if that would be included in the trial or not however.

Spreadsheet updated after Feb 13 auction -- see first post for link and apology for sidetrip through shameless promotion.

It was a very odd end-game. Everyone had money so there were fewer $1 players than the other 4 auctions.

1 - 55
2 - 62
3 - 57
4 - 62
5 - 44

Wow, why do you think this one was so conservative?

It wasn't conservative -- it was extremely balanced money management where no one went down to dollar days early.

That is, no one had a ton of money left, forcing some of the later bids to be higher and putting bidders in dollar days.

Everyone had the extra buck or so in the end to up the opening bid. Usually the auction turns into a draft with 15 or so picks left but all but the last two picks could have been topped by someone with money.

Todd - when computing the average successful dollar bid, I would think the cases where a player wasn't seleceted should be $0; otherwise the lower end figures are a bit skewed.

Yes and no. I like it this way a little more since it better answers the question "what's it probably going take to get this guy?"

Sort of -- if he's drafted, what's the cost?

Neither is perfect and at the end of the day it really doesn't matter.

Yeah, some numbnutz saved the last posting as the template he uses to convert the RTS chart into the proper format so he now needs to rebuild the template.

Late afternoon today (Monday).

Todd, as an FYI, you have "AJ" and "A.J." Reed listed on two separate lines.

Thanks.
