2016 Won't Include $100 Fanduel Discounts

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Feb 08, 2016 10:33 am

Just a heads up that unfortunately we won't be offering the $100 discount for one NFBC entry if you sign up for Fanduel.com in 2016. We've had a great, great relationship with Fanduel through the last three years and last year almost 600 NFBC players took advantage of the promotion, but both companies have decided to part on good terms for 2016.

Fanduel and Draft Kings have plenty of issues to take care of in 2016 and while the state issues play out it's in everyone's best interest to take care of their own games. Again, we really enjoyed our time working with Fanduel and a year ago we never could have seen the issues coming that are out there today. So let's give it a year to see how it plays out and we'll see what 2017 brings.

I'll announce this in a separate thread, but we'll still host an NCAA Viewing Party in our Bellagio Penthouse Suite on Thursday, March 31st starting at 4 pm PT. The NFBC will sponsor that and everyone is invited to attend. Look for more details in that separate thread. We will host this party at 4 pm PT and then we'll take some owners to a separate Penthouse suite for the Main Event at 5 pm PT and take other owners to the Auction Championship in the Executive Boardroom at 6 pm PT. There isn't an NCAA game on that night because it's the Final Four, but dammit we're keeping the name of the party as is!! 8-)

This will be a great kickoff event to get everyone gathered before the full weekend of drafts and auctions. It's a great way for the new owners to meet our veterans, and it's a great way for our veterans to hook up again with their pals. We'll also have the NFBC Platinum League draft spot auction using FAAB money in the Penthouse Suite that night to cap off the festivities. More details on that as well.

This is going to be a great, great season in the NFBC. Sorry that we're not offering the $100 discount this year, but it's just the way things are in the NFBC. Fanduel also won't be sponsoring our Tuesday Night NFBC Contest, but we may have another option for that contest. Stay tuned on details for that as well.

Thanks all. Thanks Fanduel. And best of luck to all in 2016.

Greg:

Will the NFBC be doing anything special for the Final 4 on Saturday afternoon as we have done in
the past or will the viewing party on Thursday be the only official gathering away from the actual drafts?

Fandual treated us very well, didn't think the $100 bonus would last forever but it was a solid promotion
offer the last several years. I think it was smart on there part as it has opened many full season players eyes
to the benefits of DFS. Thanks for the update.

Ken, we won't have any Saturday NCAA Viewing Party. The Main Events will be at 10 am PT and then we have a lot of private leagues, including the Platinum League, that night. So unfortunately we won't be hosting a Viewing Party that night.

Yeah, it was a good promotion and it worked for Fanduel, too. Their first $1 million champion, Dave Potts, came from the NFBC. Many of our guys were big players on their site. We'll see what happens in the future, but right now they have a big battle with the New York AG and other state AGs. Good luck to them.

Anything happening on Thursday March 24th in Vegas? Draft or small gathering? It is about to snow again on the East Coast, I need something warm and fun to look forward to attending! :D

Yeah, we'll have a gathering for those Sweet Sixteen games. I have a suite that can host a gathering and I'll see if the bigger suites are available as well. I'll look into this.

I really hope this can be preserved. I looked forward to those contests every week.
