Free Insurance On 1 Player If You Pay By Cash

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Feb 12, 2016 2:57 pm

Next week we start to hit credit cards for the live events. That means if you signed up early we have held off on charging you for any of the Auctions, Main Events or Online Championship Plus leagues. However, next week we will start charging those cards for leagues that are full.

Just a reminder that we do provide an incentive for paying for those events listed above by check, cash or money order. We feel that saves us a little money and gives you a little incentive to make extra money. For the 6th straight year, we are working with Fantasy Sports Insurance to give you free insurance on one top player if you pay by cash, check or money order. Here's the details of the promotion:

Fantasy Sports Insurance

A Fantasy Sports Insurance policy for one player is available FREE to each team owner who pays by check or money order for the NFBC Main Event, the NFBC Auction Championship and the NFBC Online Championship Plus provided that your payment is received by the due date. This insurance policy is courtesy of the NFBC and FantasySportsInsurance.com.

Here's how Fantasy Sports Insurance (FSI) works:

Designate one player who is on your team and on the Top 100 list provided by FantasySportsInsurance.com for your insurance policy. If that player spends at least 60 days on the disabled list due to an injury in 2016, you will receive payment from FantasySportsInsurance.com for:
League Insurance Amount
NFBC Main Event $320
NFBC Primetime $300
NFBC Auction Championship $240

Last year when this offer was in place for the NFBC, team owners were able to cash in their insurance policies for the following players:

Giancarlo Stanton
Alex Cobb
Adam Wainwright
David Wright
Yasiel Puig
Yan Gomes
Devin Mesoraco

After you have selected the player who you want to insure, FSI will send out a Certificate of Insurance with details of the insurance policy and the associated coverage. Claims will be paid within 60 days of the end of the MLB regular season.

"We are excited to have the opportunity to work alongside NFBC to offer Fantasy Sports Insurance (FSI) for the 2016 MLB fantasy season," said Henry Olszewski, sales, executive at Fantasy Sports Insurance. "Offering FSI to NFBC participants is a fantastic opportunity for us to provide financial peace of mind against that unforeseen, season changing injury. Lessen the blow of losing your key player. Plan...Protect...Play"

NFBC team owners also will have the opportunity to purchase additional insurance for their teams' players through FantasySportsInsurance.com if they draft more than just one injury-riddled player. For those owners, there is a policy for two players who spend a total of 90 days on the DL list and even a policy for three players who spend a total of 115 days on the DL.

I hate to say it, but FSI has paid out more than we've paid in each of the last three baseball seasons. We don't like the major injuries and either do they, but that's what this promotion is all about. You can't beat it and there's no risk to you as a player at all.

Anyway, if you want to pay this way rather than credit card, reach out to Tom at [email protected]. He will begin the payment process next week. Thanks all and best of health to everyone this baseball season. But if the ball bounces in the wrong way, hopefully you have insurance on that player.

Look for the Top 100 Player list from FSI in early March.
