Well that was worth waiting 8 days into the season for.

Imagine a few owners have had their weeks ruined already by starting him and Scherzer.

Very strange how Terry Collins didnt get Matz into a game until today. 11 days since he last pitched, giving up no hits vs the Cubs. Walks got him in trouble. His velocity was fine, just bad location. I would be more worried about deGrom's injury and Harvey not looking good. Matz will come back just fine.

Slow start for the Mets, but they started 2-3 last year as well. Not hitting yet. As far as the idiotic comparison to Pulsipher, Izzy, and Wilson, those guys never made it through a full season in the majors, let alone bring their team to the world series. Its funny how people love to bring up those guys, when one of the Mets pitchers doesnt pitch well. I remember the same comments last year. We are in game #6. Lets see where we are at the all star break. 8-)

As to my comparison other than Harvey I've seen all these pitchers dozens of times at AAA. They have all been hurt at the AAA level the AAA field is an absolute travesty for training and rehab. I'm guessing your a Mets fan so am I. Syndegaard was shut down several times for forearm. Matz injuries we lost track of and DeGrom came to AAA with a history. We have lost 2 major league teams the Dodgers and Blue Jays because of the AAA field. I was shocked when the Mets reupped their lease.

Bklyn mets the AAA field here in Vegas is a glorified softball field. I'm trying to remember an offensive player that I've seen that I felt had cant miss and I can't name one in the 3 years the team has been here. Conforto doesn't count he skipped AAA. Nothing like taking BP in a 115 heat to bring out the best in muscle memory. My comment on the pitching comparison was more towards training and management decisions.

Seriously everyone even a lot of my fellow mets fans are panicking. Not an ideal time with our shortened bullpen for this short outing, but our Amazins will be good to go.
