NFBC Message Boards

We have a lot of new participants this year and the number of Message Board visitors continues to grow. So Greg and I thought that it would be helpful to provide a bit of a breakdown in terms of what we have to offer and a look at the event itself. A more thorough look at the event, its rules and so forth can be found on the main Web site at www.fantasybaseballchampionship.com but consider this the Cliff Notes version



WHAT DO WE OFFER?

The NFBC not only is the industry's only high-stakes, multi-city baseball event but we have a number of different leagues and formats from which you can choose from. They are:



1. Satellite leagues. These are online leagues which are hosted by Mock Draft Central.com. They come with a variety of entry fees ranging from $100 to $250 to $500 to $1,000. We offer leagues which pay out the top three spots while others offer free entries for the 2008 event. All of these leagues are live and will be run all season long by STATS Inc.



2. Auction Leagues. The NFBC will host auctions in all four cities on March 16th. The entry fees are $650 or $1,250 and the leagues are Mixed, NL-only and AL-only. These are private leagues which pay out for their leagues only.



3. The Main Event. This is the draft which allows everyone to not only compete in their individual league but also against 360 total participants for the $100,000 grand prize. The draft will be held live in all four cities on March 17th.



4. The Ultimate. We also offer up a real "high-stakes" league for our participants. The Ultimate has a $5,000 entry fee and is a private league which pays out for that league only. We offer both an Ultimate Draft and Ultimate Auction format.



That's the basic overview. This is our fourth year of running the NFBC and the event has grown in stature every year. This year promises to be our biggest and best yet and we're excited to see so many new faces take part in everything we have to offer. Thanks Tom. As a newcomer, let me state that I'm pretty pumped about being a part of NFBC. I've played fantasy baseball for quite some time and have left another site (I don't want to talk bad about anyone but the site rhymes with DSPN) and it always left me wondering why I was spending a lot of money for a T-shirt. I will admit that it has been difficult making the switch from 10 teams to 15 teams but you guys have made the transition smoother. Now, if I can just avoid the verbal bashing from the Chesty fellow and the Oak tree, I will do allright. They're pretty vicious but I get the feeling it's all done out of love.

We're glad to have you here. We've had around an 80% retention rate for our event so that tells you that when people join our event they tend to stay. Greg and I have worked very hard to not only build up this event (and the NFFC) but to ensure that the competition is fun and the overall experience is one that will keep people coming back every year. Hopefully we're succeeding on that count.

Don't promise your significant other that she can pick the vacation spot the following year. I naturally assumed I would win and thus have to return to defend my title.

These guys are tops and winning is not easy... I believe my wife wants a trip to Illinois to see the grandparents. So besides my satellites, I'll have to watch from the bleachers... :rolleyes:

Bumping this up for the Sunday crowd.

Having played from year one, while also participating in football and many satellites, there are a few points I'd like to add. Customer service could not be better. Greg and Tom are always available via here, email and phone throughout the season. I can't remember a single major problem in any of the venues I have participated in, and the very few small ones were resolved literally immediately. Payouts happen directly after the season. Not three weeks later, not three months later. Not even 3 days later. Another nice perk, is the run those who do well get in a nationally distributed magazine. You though winning you lg. gave you bragging rights before? Wait til you show up at work or the bar with your grill plastered in Fantasy Sports Magazine. Or you get to participate in a Champions draft published in the same mag.



These are just a small sample of the perks to playing in the premiere fantasy/roto contest on the planet. I don't usually spend alot of time pimping rotogames, as I play or have played in just about every major one out there while enjoying most. But there is no rival to this game, regardless of what defines a great contest for any owner. Combine a fantastic format with awesome prizes/payout structure and the best customer service in the biz, and you get NFBC.

Agreed comepletly. Super fast responces. Run great. Lots of fun. Great compitition. Got my picture in a magazine. And oh by the way, you can win lots of cash.
