I wouldn't own him in a Wily Peralta-only league.

A fortunate strand rate today may get him a very weak W, rewarding those foolish

risk-takers for his 2x start week.
EDIT: Nope. His luck did not extend to the pen.

In genereral, it seems that those with the 'Wily' monicker have a hard time winning.

Second straight solid start for Adam Conley. Wish I had him in more places than my OC team.

Which Phils SP would be the best to own - Nola, VV or Eickhoff?

Not sure what i'm enjoying more, the wonderful outing from Alex wood today or the one to look forward to in Colorado at the weekend.
Maybe it will rain.

Don Mattingly is still dumb as cardboard. Conley dominant thru 6, gives up a HR in 7th, then another.
He's burnt.
Pull him? no
Leave him in to face the pitcher. Sharp single.
Pull him? no, let him face the top of the lineup.
Double into the corner.
Finally gets him, rolls out two craply middle relievers to face rendon and harper who walk and grand slam.
Predictable outcome.
Clueless Donny loses another.

Welp, I made the Conley post one inning before he gave up a four spot.

Is it too early to say that Harper is clearly the number one pick?

Yes, too early.
I'll give him probable top OFer. But Donaldson, Arenado and Machado aren't going away, and Correa could close the gap when he gets hot too. Part of my discount on Bryce was games played too ... so far so good but we'll see.

I agree that a number of players could top Harper as the top player this year. But as the top pick, if drafts took place today, I think Harper would be the unanimous number one.

I'd still be taking at least Donaldson in front if him, so it wouldn't be unanimous.

But if you took Harper over Trout you're probably feeling pretty good.

harper's K rate is very very low. if that sticks, he will have an EPIC season

Cubs Win!
6 innings from Hammel tonight.
Cubs starters have gone 6+ innings in all 14 games this seasons.
We can argue how high (low) a bar 6 innings is, but no team has started a season with 14 straight starts of 6+ innings from their starter in over 25 years.
Cubs starters are now 10-2 with a 2.14era

Logan Verrett, in 2 spot starts for Jacob deGrom, has pitched 12 innings and given up NO runs. If you went into tonight's game knowing that 6 home runs were going to be hit in the matchup between Logan Verrett and Vince Velasquez, no one would have predicted all 6 would be hit by the Mets.
A gutsy move by the Mets would be to send Matt Harvey down to the minors to fix his mechanical issues and keep Verrett in the rotation. Its never going to happen, but it would be a wake up call to Harvey and a much deserved reward to Verrett for pitching so well.

Well, I know I have been lucky with him so far with him going against Oakland, Minnesota, and the Angels (who have scored less runs than the Braves, so that is saying something). If he gets past Texas this weekend, I may actually become a believer.
