May 1 Gameday

Post by Edwards Kings » Sun May 01, 2016 12:09 pm

Must be Sunday as it seems like half my team is sitting. Cespedes just hit a double. Wright was on first. I think I can run faster than Wright....while carrying Dan Kenyon on my back! No RBI.
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Loving Carlos Martinez in the first inning, looks PISSED. got Harper looking with 96 on the corner.

Glad to see someone else started the Gameday thread. I've been away this morning. I'm hoping for a good end to a bad week of fantasy number for me.

Started Teheran wonder how this ends. Stay away from Rizzo please. #StopRizzo.

Teheran with a beauty. Braves were +210 today. Don't know the final outcome but Teheran came through. On another Harper struck out 4 times ouch.

Vizcaino blew the save, but got the win (Grilli Save) in 10.

Crazy that pitchers are still trying to sneak fastballs by Arenado on the inside half. Probably the best right-handed inside fastball hitter in baseball right now.

He has been unbelievable so far. It brings up an interesting discussion...In fantasy, a lot depends on the player's team, surroundings, etc, and is obviously based solely on offense...If you are starting a team from scratch, in a vacuum, who are you taking at 3b? All other positions, with the exception of LF, are pretty straight forward for me. I think it's between Machado and Arenado given their ages and ability with the glove. I give Machado a slight edge, but it's very close for me. Donaldson might be the best of the bunch right now, but he's got too many years on them, imo...and then there's the case of Kris Bryant- Will he grow into a better player than the others? Who are you taking?

David Price getting shelled again, now has a 6+ ERA. This guy is one of the biggest busts of the year. Apparently he originally wanted to sign with the Cubs, but needed the extra few million that the Red Sox offered. $200 mil is not enough apparently.
Can you imagine Price pitching in the National League vs all these teams that are tanking?

Not good when your #2 pitcher is completely wasting everything Arrieta is doing.

Wow, you did all that research and didn't realize I was referring to the Brewers, Braves, Reds, Phillies, Padres, etc...? lol Not too mention he'd be facing a pitcher! Getting shelled again tonight, brutal.

Although the AL East is not great anymore (Yankees worst team in baseball in runs scored, prior to tonight), he has always seemed to have trouble pitching against AL East teams. I wouldn''t go wishing he could pitch in the NL Central though. That is the top hitting division in baseball.
