That looks like that makes us 300 strong. 60 more signups to go, 4 more leagues. Is there a chance we'll be drawing for leagues by March 1st, or will you shoot for 375? 390? Dare I say 405?

Sorry, I was in meetings too much today. You beat us to the punch as we have now topped 300 teams for the main event. We are at 301 at this minute, which means we have



59 GUARANTEED SPOTS LEFT FOR THE MAIN EVENT!!!



Right now we are just shooting for 360 teams and full leagues in each city. My goal would be to close out four leagues in Chicago and three leagues in Tampa and then see where Las Vegas and New York land. There are still plenty of New York NFBC members who haven't signed up yet as they normally wait until the end, so we'll see what number we finish at. Most of our ads are just hitting newsstands, USA Today Sports Weekly and MLB.com, so the best is yet to come.



The goal is to fill up or go a little beyond and still get the draft spots to everyone in plenty of time. Let's just see what the next three weeks bring.

I almost HAVE to keep the signups going through there as the signups vibrate the Blackberry with joy!! Nothing better than sitting at a ballgame and seeing the signups pour in!!

I have a very good feel of where we'll finish up. I know how many signups we're ahead of last year at this time (exactly 40 thanks to UFS's count), I know how many 2006 members still haven't signed up yet, and I know how many phone calls I'm getting per week from newbies. So I have a pretty good feel about where we'll land overall and it probably is a good number.



Still, I want to see this through and not make a final comment until I play this out. If I could close out each city evenly, I'd be the happiest man in Iola (it's me against 599 other men who live here!). March Madness is four weeks away and I can hardly wait.

Greg, Does the advertising budget have enough room for local advertising (I am, of course, thinking of Tampa and maybe Atlanta/Orlando/Miami). Georgia and Florida combined have roughly the same population base (though spread out over more square miles) as NY/NJ, but the sign-ups from FL/GA are significantly less (South ~ 30, North ~ 80). I wonder if a little targeted advertising might help?

I wonder if a little targeted advertising might help? According to the promotional video featuring Brady Tinker, NFBC participants have "an average income of over $110,000." My guess is that the BosWash megalopolis has far greater disposable income than Florida and the 4-0-4. Thus, these findings are not in any way surprising.
