Not for Michael Wacha owners. Could've used this run support the last few days when I started Hendricks and Lackey.

Harvey, S. Miller, Gray, Archer. This game called fantasy baseball that we all love so much can be so frustrating!

It's a shame this Nationals/Mets game wasn't in NY so we could hear the NY front-runners....I mean "fans," boo Matt Harvey again. Classy. Nobody turns on their teams quicker than the privileged NY "fans," who act as if it is their birthright to win every year, in every sport. The cracks are starting to appear for the Metropolitans. Duda, Wright...it's just a matter of time before Harvey, DeGrom, & Syndegaard turn into the ghosts of Paul Wilson, Jason Isringhausen & Billy Pulsipher.

Coz,

I think Syndegaard, Degrom and Matz will be solid.. I think Harvey will eventually become functional and with Colon, Wheeler coming and a decent pen the Mets staff will still be among the best. The offense will flounder. They will need to make a trade. Having said that, I TOTALY agree with you about low class NY "fans" who in reality have no concept of what being a fan means. Being a real fan means cheering for and supporting your team through thick and thin. You boo poor effort, not hustling, acting like an idiot, things like that. Booing players who are struggling only makes the struggle harder. Low class fans do it all the time.

Looking forward to Harvey's rehab stint in Las Vegas would be fun to watch.

Several comments about Mets fans being "front runners" or not supporting their players. There is nowhere better to play, if you continuously work hard and are an upstanding guy. No one has struggled as much as David Wright over the past several years.. he does not get booed. Ever. This is because he is a good guy, works his butt off, represents the team as a leader, even though he has diminished skills. Same with Curtis Granderson. You will not see him booed, like Harvey... ever.

Matt Harvey is all about Matt Harvey. He cares about his performance and his career. He is not going to be on the Mets for life. Everyone knows this. He knows this. The fans are sure of it. Last year, he showed his true colors and tonight, once again, he embarrasses himself and shows up the team by leaving the stadium, allowing Kevin Plawecki to answer questions about what Harvey's issues were tonight. He left it for his teammates to answer questions. He disappeared. Watch the Plawecki interview... it was brutal. All because Harvey took off and didnt face it like a man.

I have said this since last year. The guy is bad news. His performance this year was as predictable as a Cubs loss in the playoffs. Its not about his stuff. He is still throwing 96. Its in his head. Hopefully, someday, he realizes how much of an idiot he is and gets humbled by this experience. Watch an interview of Jacob deGrom... even when he has struggled. He is there, after the game, to answer every question with class.

Say what you want about New York fans, booing Matt Harvey goes way beyond his bad performances. He is a selfish guy who is not representative of what Mets fans (or any fans) expect from their players. These guys get paid a lot of money. They are blessed beyond anyone's dreams. What he did tonight after the game and last year, shows you what this guy is about. I don't want him on my team. Not just because of his performance... He is a selfish idiot.

Interesting. Powerful take on Matt Harvey & the local view of it.

BK Mets,

I agree. I have not analyzed Harvey and he behavior like some Mets fans likely have but you are probably right. In my post I said fans should boo poor effort, lack of hustle, acting like an idiot, etc. I do feel that NY (not just mets, but any NY team) do have a larger contingent of fans who come to games WANTING to boo. They can't wait to scream "you're a bum!" It is just different from fans in Missouri.
