If Sal Perez is not hitting well, he is overworked.
If Sal Perez IS hitting well, he is a workhorse.
For fantasy baseball players, the fifth inning for starting pitchers in the lead should be called the fifth Winning.
If the draft were held today for next year, Clayton Kershaw may be the dominant number one pick.
Chris Tillman has been great. So has Josh Tomlin.
Is this a year long thing?
I believe that under performance plagues Tillman.
Injury for Tomlin.
I roster both.
The pessimism in me never goes away.
Remember when drafters questioned the high price for Bogaerts, Lindor, and Seager? Good times...
Playing every day for the last 10 days, former wonderkid shortstop Aledmys Diaz has not had a homer or stolen base and had his batting average drop 40 points from .377 to .336
That was fun.
Here's Jhonny!!!
If every pitcher that threw against Tampa were left handers, the Rays would be a tough team to beat.
But they aren't and they aren't.
With Betances, Miller, and Chapman, the Yankees have the best kickers in baseball.
The problem being that the lead is preferable when they're given the baton.
If one aspect of a player follows from the minors to the majors, it is speed.
In every full season in the minors, Joc Pederson had at least 24 stolen bases.
In the majors, four last year, two this year.
Russell Martin looks horrible at the plate.
Most Blue Jays do.
Off their meds?
Is there a more boring interleague 'rivalry' than Tampa/Miami ?
Xander Bogaerts batting average (.349) is higher than Joey Votto's on base percentage (.339)
Dallas Keuchel 2015 is 'Grease'
Dallas Keuchel 2016 is 'Grease 2'
Speaking of grease, nobody is accusing Clay Buchholz of using it this year...
Josh Hamilton is being paid by the Angels to not play for the Rangers....
If drafting Paul Goldschmidt for his steals, you got your wish.
It is the only category roto category in which he is in the top 5....for all 1B.
Goldy does lead all 1B, handily, in walks....And Joey Votto is pissed off....
Yes, Goldy is leading all first basemen in obp. And his owners are pissed off....
Jose Altuve is 0 fer his last 14, two fer his last 21...it happens to everybody....
Billy Hamilton isn't even a one trick pony any more.
More like a light hitting Eduardo Nunez...without positionality....
Chris Carter is beating Giancarlo Stanton in every roto category but one...Neither have stolen a base...
Korean, Byung Ho Park has more homers (9) than Carlos Correa (7)
Justin Smoak has never hit against Mike Fiers...
Brandon Belt has never hit against Aaron Loup...
Martin Prado is a rare one category player...340/13/0/15/0
For on pace geeks...340/48/0/56/0...exciting
The Minnesota Twins have 11 Wins this year.
The Minnesota Vikings had 11 Wins last year.
Interesting bet online the other day....
Who gives up more runs, Finnegan or the Cincy bullpen...
Ben Zobrist is the only player in the top 10 of walks who is also in the top 10 in Runs Scored...
Shelby Mustang, Yes.
Shelby Miller.....No.
Miller...Less Innings! More Runs! Less innings! More Runs!
I dropped Miller in my Main Event.
He didn't diappoint in reminding me why tonight...
Miller threw well and did not win last year.
This year, he is throwing crappy and can't win.
Gotta give him credit, he is trying everything....
Bottom 10 in ERA....
1 Wily Peralta 6.99
2 Michael Pineda 6.34
3 Anibal Sanchez 6.23
4 Sonny Gray 6.19
5 Matt Harvey 6.08
6 Ubaldo Jimenez6.04
7 Clay Buchholz 5.92
8 Dallas Keuchel 5.92
9 Adam Wainwright 5.77
10 Mike Pelfrey 5.55
Some real good pitchers are keeping real bad company....
Think how things would differ for us, if we, and we alone, had this list in March....
It's almost unfair....
The Marlins have won 23 games...Saves in 18 of them
The Cubs have won 29 games....Saves in 8 of them
It's a bad baseball year to be a Gordon...
In the 70's, there was a 'Game of the Week'.
Roundly criticized for only showing large market teams.
So far, the ESPN Sunday Night game has shown....

Look at all of those big name pitchers who aren't getting it done. The crazy game of baseball. Wainwright you could have called -- he's old and coming off a major injury. But that's the only one.
Agree with you on the Sunday Night Game --- just about every week, there it is.....Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Dodgers, Angels.

Re: Stuff and Junk....Insomnia Version
When looking at the big name pitchers crushing owners this year I think back to how Jeff Samardzija single handedly cost me an NFBC main event league title last year. I remember trotting him out there every week and watching him destroy my era and whip. I remember thinking in march that he was likely to have a bounce back season (sadly I didn't get him this year). I have to believe the Pineda, Harvey, Keuchel owners are feeling the same pain right now.
