From RotoWorld-

'Carlos Santana collected his 30th homer and his 23rd double Thursday as the Indians topped the Astros 10-7.
It's Santana's first career 30-homer season. It also looks like he'll establish a new career high in runs scored while often hitting at the top of the order this year (he's at 75 now, career high of 84). Still, this doesn't rate as one of his best seasons, considering that offense is up across the league. By OPS+, he still falls well short of his career norm.'

Who died and made OPS+ our King?
I'll bet that Santana drafters are quite happy with career highs in homers and runs.
C'mon man, the world doesn't revolve around a walk based stat.
The funny thing is that writers like this LOVE bases on balls, thinking it creates more runs.
Santana is set to set a career high for runs WITHOUT walking as much.
Contradictory to his beliefs! How dare Santana!
This writer has figured out that Santana has more runs scored due to his place in the lineup.
By the same token, he has NOT figured out that Santana will receive less walks at that spot in the lineup.
Before, Santana was the last meaningful hitter in the Indians lineup, now the first.
Bases on balls are part hitter, part pitcher.
Some are slow to grasp the concept.

but- just remember that votto walks no matter where he is in the lineup. he walks no matter how many men are on base, what the score is, what the inning is, or where the reds are in the standings. he just walks.

PLAYBOY MAN OF THE YEAR- JOEY VOTTO

Hobbies-
Joey enjoys long, long walks on the beach( really girls, he does)
Joey loves cooking, especially with his wok

Bad Habits-
Pacing, for no apparent reason

Favorite Music-
Walk and roll

Favorite Ball player-
Larry Walker

Exercise-
Joey has sold all means of transportation. He lives 'just' 12 miles from the ballpark.
When traveling by plane with the Reds, Joey walks up and down the aisles till reaching their destination. He counts that as walking from Cincinnati to San Diego.

Biggest Moment in his Career-
A walk-off walk with the bases loaded

Most proud-
"In 2010, I had my best batting line 37/113/.324
Since that time, I haven't really come close to those numbers again, but I've been in the top three in drawing walks since.
Even leading MLB last year and this.
I'm proud of that."
(Joey has reached the post-season three times with the Reds. He never had an extra base hit,
but is quick to point out that he did walk four times)

Most looking forward to-
Walking his little girl down the aisle

THERE YOU GO, GIRLS!
PUT ON YOUR WALKING SHOES.
JOEY IS A CATCH IF YOU CAN KEEP PACE!

(I kid, Joey. I know you're having a great year. Walk on!)
