First NFBC Satellite League Drafts Tonight
Okay, we have 60+ people checking out the NFBC boards tonight, so it's time to have some fun with the boards. Our first official NFBC Satellite League drafts are starting tonight, one a $250 league and another a $100 league. I'll stay in both leagues for a few hours and maybe pass on a few of the first picks for everyone to see. Then we can have some fun here discussing everything. Sound good?
The first pitch is in nine minutes. Stay tuned.

yeah, Wells in the 1st very surprising.
Also of note, looks like everyone has jumped back on the A-Rod bandwagon ... I took him 7th in an early draft and nobody blinked, but I'd be surprised if he goes that late in ANY NFBC draft the rest of the way. Everything I read now is predicting a monster comeback season for him.

M. Cabrera at 19, and Ichiro at 30 look like pretty good value.

Okay, very similar third rounds tonight:
Morneau at 32, 32.
Mauer at 33, 36
Victor Martinez at 37, 40
Damon at 38, 42
Dye at 39, 41
Carpenter at 39, 41
Andruw Jones at 37, 38
Konerko at 36, 36
Joe Nathan at 44, 46
Real, real interesting. Figgins went 35th in the other league, Michael Young fell to 42nd in the other league. Otherwise a lot of similar talent going here.

I can't believe Howard slipped to 15th. I think that owner grabbed Berkman with next pick. Nice power, avg, run and rbi...sb can be grabbed later, several speed guys available in rd 3-4
Can't help but notice the Reyes #2 overall didn't happen in either league. I know he didn't drop far, but I have to agree with the #2's letting him drop. IMHO, ARod is not #2 either. Yes, he'll be good, but I still think too many good 3rd basemen is 1-2 rd to spend #2 pick on him....I know most disagree and I can understand the logic
I think it was Captain Hook who pointed out Utley being pushed up too high. Aye-Aye Captain, I agree whole heartedly...
All in all, nice drafting...some nice value picks on back ends of these drafts...
I see Hanley Ramirez went quick in 2nd rd of at least 1 draft...i think he'll be a bit of a disappointment this year...

Tell me when halftime is over. I'm splitting then!! [/QUOTE]That's the beautiful and horrible thing about basketball.
Unlike football, baseball or hockey, whose game can be pretty much over in the first half...in basketball...you can set your alarm to between 7-5 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter...and see all you need to see of a game.

Sorry, I have to split but I trust that several folks will post on this thread when it's done. They are through seven rounds already. Good picks all around.
There are a few openings left in the satellite leagues if you're interested. Otherwise, we'll see ya at the live drafts!!!

I know many will be able to push Hanley Ramirez in my face since I've done nothing but basically bash him as a 2-3 rd pick. To me, he is 5-7 rd guy. If I'm wrong, I'll admit to admit...afterall, you don't end up ranked behind 200+ other people hitting on too many of these "predictions"
