Next Year....

Let's talk about next year.
I'm immersed in study for the PreMature League and already can't wait for the first draft of the year.
There will be unanswered questions everywhere.
Let's go around the horn on the infield....
C-
Is Sanchez going to be the first catcher selected?
It wouldn't surprise me. He has to pass Posey, Lucroy, Gattis, Ramos, and Realmuto.
None, as sexy as Sanchez.
Remember that Kyle Schwarber will be only OF eligible to start the 2017 season.
Other questions-
Does Wieters go away or accept another one year deal?
Can Ramos stay healthy another year?
What happens to McCann?
Buster Posey had two more homers than Joe Mauer. If Posey were 1B-only, would he even get drafted by the 15th round?
Leon, really?
Should Yan Gomes change his name to 'Yawn' ?
1B-
This used to be the 'go to' place for drafters.
Other spots on the infield have caught up.
For next year, Edwin Encarnacion tops the power list with 41 homers.
You read that right, Mark Trumbo loses first base eligibity.
A lot of 1B are 'slugs'.
Guys that can hit for power, but not much else.
CDavis, Napoli, Carter, Santana, Moss and Lind all had 20 or more homers. None could muster a .250 batting average.
Does Miggy stay in the first round?
New ball park for Freddie, good or bad?
Is Paul Goldschmidt taking a Votto approach?
Can Wil Myers stay healthy?
Ia AGon a gone?
AJ Reed, AAAA?
Pujols still 1B eligible
Pedro Alvarez will be U only.
Goodbye sweet Prince
2B-
Jose Altuve is King. Long live the Napolean-like King.
Dozier, Odor, and Cano will be drafted highly.
Daniel Murphy has 1B eligibility too. Can he keep this years pace up, next year?
Dee Gordon. Flash in the pan?
Can Dustin Pedroia stay healthy?
Ben Zobrist will 'only' be 2B and OF eligible next year. Luster lost?
Trea Turner, last year's Carlos Correa?
3B-
Same Top 4.
Donaldson, Machado, Arenado, and Bryant.
In different orders from draft to draft, of course.
Longoria had the year that all expected long ago. Longago-ria.
Beltre, timeless.
Rendon stayed healthy and at one position.
Todd Frazier can hit home runs. He's a Slug.
Hernan Perez, Jonathon Villar, Eduardo Nunez, and Jose Reyes all bring speed and position variety to the table.
Gurriel?
Gurriel's bro?
Moustakas?
Castellanos?
Franco or Sano? Does it matter?
SS-
The first shortstop taken in every draft will be the same.
Manny Machado added ss eligibility for next year.
After Machado, guess who leads all shortstop-eligible hitters in homers....go ahead....guess.
Brad Miller. Brad freakin' Miller.
Look at these shortstops....
Lindor .310/93/14/71/18
Seager .313/99/25/69/2
Correa .274/72/20/92/13
Bogaerts .297/111/20/88/13
Russell .247/63/21/93/5
Segura .319/91/17/59/30
Yum.
Those are some pretty juicy stats. And I didn't even include Trevor Story, Jonathon Villar, Miller, or Nunez.
Will Tulo continue his streak of being overdrafted?
Is Marcus Semien a Slug?
Did Didi quit hitting like a girl?
Tim Anderson?
Swanson?
Alright, that is enough of the questions.
Here is an almost full list of where players can be eligible for next year (ATTENTION PreMature folks!)
