Rob Silver Wins 2016 NFBC Main Event

CONGRATS to Rob Silver of Toronto, Ontario as he has won the 2016 NFBC Main Event and the $125,000 grand prize. Rob is an NFBC Charter Member who has been trying to win this title since 2004 and Season 13 turned out to be Lucky No. 13 for this die-hard player. Congrats Rob on a FANTASTIC season.

Rob becomes the 12th different owner to win the NFBC Main Event title. Only Lindy Hinkelman has won more than 1 Main Event overall title. Rob won his March 28th Main Event Online League title with 143 points and he won the overall title by 117 points over runner-up Mike Mager.

Each year Rob comes to Las Vegas to compete live not only in the Main Event, but the auction leagues and our high-dollar private leagues. But this year his wife got a new job with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's office and in late March Trudeau was set to travel to Washington D.C. to meet with President Obama. Rob joined his wife at the state dinner and thus couldn't make it out to Las Vegas. But he found a way to sneak in some Main Event drafts Online and it turned out to be good fortunate for him. He competed in 5 Main Events Online as his only leagues for 2016 and he finished with one league title and $131,500 in winnings.

Rob drafted from the 15th spot and started out with Kris Bryant and Max Scherzer, quite possibly the NL MVP and the NL Cy Young winner. Here's a look at his winning draft:
