Facebook group for high stakes players ...

Post by KJ Duke » Sat Jan 14, 2017 3:02 pm

Why start this group?

1) This group will be private, only other members can see posts.
2) It can be easier to have a group conversation or 1:1 conversation on FB than in public forums or email.
3) Group members must be approved/verified, so we can keep out lurkers, scammers, marketers, etc.

High stakes players = If you play the NFBC Main or other live high stakes league and you're on FB, you're qualified (if I don't know you, LMK the leagues you play to verify). No one in the group is selling anything, just an easy platform to chat with other players, post pics from the NFBC or baseball events/games, talk baseball and fantasy. Started this today, 38 members so far.

This FaceBook thing looks like it may catch on...
People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.

lurk·er ˈlərkər/
a person who lurks, in particular a user of an Internet message board or chat room who does not participate.
Why is that?

FYI - I updated the group address to this: https://www.facebook.com/groups/HSfantasybaseball/

.

If I join the FB group (assuming you'd allow me  ) could I use the group to shame DC managers in the group who are picking dreadfully slow?

Think of it as a secret room hidden in enemy territory. Go incognito.

I used to feel the same way until I realized Facebook is nothing more than the NFBC Message Boards with friends & family instead of fantasy competitors, and updates on what this buddy's kids are up to or how that relative is celebrating his birthday in lieu of how Rotoboy or Deadheadz is going to conquer the fantasy universe. ;)

Yeah, you don't have to turn into a FB groupie to join. It's easy enough to put up minimal info, block things you don't want to see and have your info accessible only to friends ... well, and to the CIA/FBI of course. But they already know way more about you than you'll put on FB from hacking your smart TV. :geek:
