Terrible news out of the Dominican Republic today. 25 year old Yordano Ventura was killed in a car crash.

In a separate accident, also in the DR, former MLB infielder Andy Marte was also killed.

Ventura pitched the best game of his MLB career while paying tribute to countryman Oscar Taveras, who also died in an accident on the dangerous roads in the Dominican Republic.

so sad. Andy Marte too who used to be a top prospect. Sounds like speed, alcohol and dangerous roads were all a factor.

The unfortunate thing is one picture actually had the body still in it that was released.

Such a talented pitcher.

When you earn millions per year, what's $50-75K to have a full time driver?

Sad.

I'm thinking Ventura and Jose Fernandez should be removed from the player queue.

Yes, I agree with removing them.

Seriously, is this so hard to do? Can IT not make any more changes with the move to Sports HUB? Ventura is now on our main queue page, do you want someone to time out and draft a deceased person? This should take two seconds to do and should have been done as soon as the news was out, yet has been ignored for some reason.

Would seem like a fair lesson to that individual to not time out.
