First Weekend Las Vegas Plans At The Bellagio

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Mar 20, 2017 12:52 pm

Okay, a hearty WELCOME to everyone flying into Las Vegas this weekend for the NFBC drafts and auctions, along with the Sweet Sixteen tournament. We have a great group of owners coming to the Bellagio this weekend and some great tournament games to watch and bet on!! Can't wait.

Okay, we have full leagues for both Auction Championship Leagues and both Main Events. We are trying to fill another 12-team draft on Friday and Saturday at 4 pm if anyone is interested. Just email me if you'd like to do one more on either day.

Let's get to the Schedule of Events and then we'll look at the weather report. Here we go:

Thursday, March 23rd, 4 pm PT
If anyone wants to watch the games in our suite just come to the base of the Spa Towers after 4 pm and shoot me an email at [email protected]. I'll come downstairs and bring you to our suite. Should be a fun, informal gathering with a few drinks and munchies. Not a bad way to meet your competitors.

Friday, March 24th
10 am PT: Auction Championship starts in Renoir 1 in the Bellagio Convention Center. Come in from the casino and walk past the Business Center and down the next hallway. We are in the ballroom at the end of that hallway to the right in the back behind Cezanne 1-2, Gauguin 1-2. It's Renoir 1.

We will try for a $350 Online Championship Live draft at 4 pm PT if anyone is interested. We have 6 who will do it now.

Saturday, March 25th
10 am PT: Main Event starts in Renoir 1 and 2.
We will try for a $350 Online Championship Live draft at 4 pm if anyone is interested.

Sunday, March 26th
Auction Championship starts in Renoir 1 in the Bellagio Convention Center. Come in from the casino and walk past the Business Center and down the next hallway. We are in the ballroom at the end of that hallway to the right in the back behind Cezanne 1-2, Gauguin 1-2. It's Renoir 1.

If you need anything contact me at [email protected] or at 715-254-5553. Thanks all and good luck.

We end a perfect First Weekend in Las Vegas with one more Auction Championship League today at the Bellagio. Great job everyone so far and let's finish strong with Brady as our auctioneer.

I had to post about our $350 Online Championship Live we pulled off yesterday. We were able to get 12 owners to do one more draft after the Main Event yesterday and we picked the draft spots live with folks grabbing the spots after their names were pulled from a hat. After setting up the league online our guys hammered out the picks in record time. We finished this 12-teamer in 1 hour and 45 minutes with one short break. AMAZING!! Great, great fun with a stellar group of owners.

Speaking of a great group of owners, my Las Vegas crew was so amped for the Main Event yesterday that 14 of 15 owners were seated in their spots in LV 2 FORTY MINUTES before the start of the draft. We had all but 2 people in the room 25 minutes before the start of drafts. That's amazing for any city, but in LAS VEGAS IT'S REALLY AMAZING!!

We had the steak and chicken for the Main (yum, yum!!) and ran through those drafts seamlessly. Great job everyone.

I'm looking forward to the final auction and another active day of online drafts. We filled 24 online drafts the last two days, so keep 'em coming. The numbers are really coming together. Thanks all and good luck.

We also had some crazy shit happening out here this weekend. First there were the three robbers wearing pig masks who came into the Bellagio on Friday around 1:30 am and smashed out the windows in the Rolex store and took tens of thousands of dollars in watches. They had to evacuate the entire Bellagio casino at 1:30 on a Friday evening. Check it out:

Then on Saturday afternoon a man held people hostage on a bus for four hours near the Cosmopolitan, killing one person and wounding another. It shut down traffic on the Strip most of the afternoon. Heck, our facilitators after the Main Event couldn't even get home. Just crazy.

Well, I guess they don't call it Sin City for nothing. Let's see what today brings.

One interesting note from our two Auction Championship Leagues we had in Las Vegas was that in both of them 14 of the 15 teams were solo. Only one auction team in both leagues had a co-manager. For baseball, where you need to track all of the bids and your own needs for 23 rounds plus the seven round Reserve Draft, that's pretty amazing. I'm not sure I've ever seen that before in our auctions, no matter what the sport.

Just a small tidbit from our fun weekend in Las Vegas. Great job everyone and Brady was especially sprightly as an auctioneer both days. It made for a fun couple of days at the Bellagio.

Safe travels everyone and as Bill Belichick would say, "WE'RE ON TO SECOND WEEKEND." :D

Greg,

I think I can speak for everyone there in saying thank you for running a great weekend! Everything was first class and the group of those drafting and in the auctions were some of the best people you will ever meet. I am jealous of those who get to go back again this upcoming weekend.

Thanks again!
